J's Life: Reason for not being active

Apart from school and the assignments that are crushing me to bits (Computational Chemistry, which is made up of stuff like programming, calculating molecular structures, optimizing reaction mechanism, stability and reactivity of various structures or compounds - *pukes at the thought of it*), I've been very busy with...
Work, in case you don't know, I'm a pet groomer.

Picture credit to Cesario who dropped by to visit since my workplace is near his area
while I was grooming Bowie (a very chubby mini maltese).
My side line due to my big boy, Volka (he has a blog category here itself), who is very afraid of grooming to a point that he will bite the groomer despite being a very timid dog, so I took up up grooming so that I can groom him personally since I'm well prepared for all sorts of nonsenses he will give during / after the grooming session.
Recently, it has came across to me that some people (to be honest, my parents plus some other people, typically the older ones, 45 years old and above) stereotyped that a pet groomer's job is not a very good job. Supposed to be catered for those who are not good in their studies, job equivalent to say e.g. Beautician, Massage Specialist, Hair Stylist, Manicurist, etc. My parents think that I should continue being a QC Chemist or even consider being Teacher cos I can earn more through that (wth).
Felt so unjustified upon hearing it. Who said so? 8 out of 10 groomers I know are at least Diploma holders or University graduates / undergraduates, with 1 still in NS and 1 who is a foreigner employed by my boss.
Being a pet groomer (plus those jobs I mentioned above stereotyped by my parents as well) doesn't mean we are stupid and done badly with our studies, we just want to do something we feel passionate about. And trust me, I believe if I'm willing to work during peak hours, I can earn more that QC Chemist or Teacher. It takes a lot of courage, patience and stamina to be a Pet Groomer.
We risk ourselves getting injuries through aggressive pets, tolerate unreasonable pet owners and sometimes hyperactive pets, and long hours of standing, lifting and carrying pets around. We also went through trainings, theory exam, practical exam and even project work to get our Trimmer's certificate as well (I believe same applies to the other jobs mentioned above) . So why is it that people actually think that a Pet Groomer is a job for someone who is less academically inclined?
Think about it.

Stanstan: Boss is the one earning the most, LOL! Some shops pay by monthly basis, some are by commission basis. Pet grooming where got expensive? I saw some really cheap ones recently, even I feel wary about their services cos it's too cheap, like $30 full grooming plus free transport. LOL! Pasta doesn't affect my inactiveness at all.
