i have always wanted to do this...i watched this from a anime called xXxHolic its a supernatural anime well http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XxxHolic ok so .... In the tenth episode of the anime xxxHolic Yūko invites Watanuki, Doumeki and Himawari to the Hyakumonogatari Kaidankai. and i have asked my aunt as she is a medium too ..and she said that she had heard about this before when she was in japan and she even tried it her self but then she didnt really tell me what happen she just told me how to do and what to do ... she said that its better to feel it yourself

Hyakumonogatari Kaidankai (百物語怪談会, Hyakumonogatari Kaidankai? lit., A Gathering of One Hundred Supernatural Tales) was a popular parlour game during Edo period Japan.

The game was a simple one. In a room, as night fell, one hundred candles were lit. Guests and players gathered around the candles, taking turns telling kaidan. After each kaidan, a single candle was extinguished, and the room slowly grew darker and darker. The process was an evocation, with the final candle believed to summon a supernatural entity.

The origin of the game is unknown. It is thought that it was first played amongst the samurai class as a test of courage, and later became fashionable amongst the townsmen.

A true popular phenomenon, the popularity of Hyakumonogatari Kaidankai combined with new printing technology created a boom in the publication of kaidan-themed books collecting appropriate tales from every corner of Japan and China. Books in this genre often used the term Hyakumonogatari in the title, and in fact the published tale’s popularity continued long after the fad for the game had faded.

no not really ...its says u need but actually u can have any number just ...have the right number of candles and things and ur set

erm....u dont need to say till 100 stories....so if there is 10 person u just say 10 stories 23people ? then 23 stories ...i dont know what u do after they come...u can do what ever BUT !! the most importen thing is ...if they are really summoned...i have NO idear how to call them go back ...so .....if u die ...thats not my problem >.<...i will pray for u >.<...lol
