Guys need help... I book a chalet in East Coast... (Out of no choice since ALL the chalet are fully booked) Then now what's more har??? I never plan for any party or class gathering before... So I seriously dun know what's more I need to prepare??? I plan for a BBQ and buffet party... So what's more do I need to prepare... Please help me... My birthday is like 10/11/2007... I am panicking now... Because I seems like not prepared for anything...

Don't worry, you still have time.

first you need to decide who you going to invite. how many you going to invite and start from there. prepare everything from there.

After you roughly know how many ppl coming, den you buy the cups, plates,etc needed i.e.each person gets 3 plates so if lets say 150 coming=450plates. Then after that, buy baloons and other decorative stuff to decorate the chalet. Later on make goodie bags for everyone(best to be given out at the end of the party). I think that's all.

I had my 21st Birthday at East Coast Chalet too! I see you have BBQ and buffet prepared so that's good, lots of food is good! Make sure there is sufficient drinks too, drinks and ice always seem to go out very fast.

I invited some friends over the day before the actual party and we had a mini BBQ and went crazy playing games in the chalet. You may want to consider a "sleepover" like that. Do prepare some games or activites your friends can do so it heightens the party mood e.g. twister, Indian poker

You need to roughly estimate your budget and confirm on the number of attendees first.

Alternatively you can source for catering services if you have a higher budget and if you do not want to go through the hassle for the preparation of ingredients and such.

Other than chinese friends, are you intending to invite other races as well. You gotta take note of this point too cos there are certain food you maybe need to avoid too

I do support the idea of introducing games as it will liven up the party ^^
Make sure that the food and drinks are enuff to cater for everyone not forgetting the ice

Yea I think do take note of the food choices the buffet offers since there will be various races present I suppose? It's wise to make it halal and include a variety of dishes, both spicy and non spicy.

Oh and a fondue fountain! I've been to various 21st parties with chocolate fondue fountains and I must say that made me very happy. =)

Some ideas:

Spin the music. If you have a disco ball, bring it. You guys can dim the lights and have a party inside.

Games, but try some...more matured games since you are turning 21. Board games, wacko and the likes are too...juvenile.

Have performances. Rope your guitar-playing or dancer friends to sing a tune or dance a number. Make it interactive, so that your invited guests can join in.

Oh and for welcoming purposes, take note of each guest, give them a special thank-you card for attending.

Anyway there's no need to confine to the chalet room. There's always the beach! A night walk or cycling after the dinner would be fun. =)

Its never able to please everyone. Since you have family members attending too. Especially if got elderly.
Have more drinks then foods. Not all will eat the bbq foods so have some cook foods as well.

Get a few of your good buddy to help to plan and distribute the duties if they are willing to help you. You alone will die of handling all these and end of the day, u be too tired to enjoy your own bday.

hmm perhaps you need people to help you buy the stuff (u cant possibly carry everything home) or alternatively you can order online: http://www.bbqwholesale.com/

you may need someone to help you set up the bbq, deco the place & prepare everything.

remember during ur chalet, dont leave anyone out.. as in u muz talk to everyone, make them feel like you know they are there.

1 - budget
2 - people
3 - activity

wad is your budget
if u are going to invite 30 frens (example), is ur budget enuf
if there are 30 frens, prepare up to 50 paper plates, cups, utensils
make sure there are trash bags

food will be entirely up to u, i cant help u state any perfect example
maybe 60 chicken wings, 80 fishball, bee hoon, noodle, curry, etc
drinks, if u are NOT buying bottles, make sure there are more than 1 kind, preferbly fruit juice, so that in case u have frens who are allergic to one kind of juice, can op for the other kind of drinks
alternative rather than preparing urself is catering (which is going to cost u quite abit)

when i said activity, i kinda mean 2 things
1-wad ur fren will do for u, will they be buying u cakes? will they be contrubuting any food/drinks?
2-wad time ur bday chalet commence? afternoon all the way to night? or night all the way to next morn? from there decide on the things u going to do for ur bday... cycling, birthday bash, card/board games, swimming... etc...

hm... roughly liddat loh, but sometimes the activities, best is let nature take its course, not everything die die must go according to plan

BBQ Food get 1.5x times the amount of food to ppl attending. Drinks u got to get ard 3x or maybe 4x. plate get ard 100-150 if not wrong is 25 pic a pack. Too bad i not in singapore if not i can help u to get some BBQ food stuff as i sell satay :p got lobang to get ice and BBQ food at quite low price.

Games: for older ppl they like to sit ard talk cock maybe majong and some cards games would be nice. Do remember music is a must or very boring de. check out if there is any dvd or vcd player get some movie to show.


Just what i did.
This Year i hold my Birthday BBQ at east coast all things done by myself hehe from food to drinks and paper plate so i can tell u 150 plate is min cause i got like 200 and wasnt enuff . i got ard 200 wings, 200 satay, 50 otah, 50 corn, 50 han zi, fired mee, 50 small pack of sotong, 3 bottle of syrup 4 big bag of ice 2 liqueur isnt enuff for like 50-60 ppl. haha mostly guys
