3 S'pore universities extend application deadline to take in UNSW students
SINGAPORE : Singapore's three local universities have extended their application deadline for taking in students affected by the closure of the University of New South Wales' (UNSW) Singapore campus, to June 4.
In a joint statement the Economic Development Board and the Education Ministry said they have been working closely with UNSW to help the affected students who wish to remain in Singapore and provide them with options to consider for their university studies.
Representatives from the student admissions offices of the National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University and Singapore Management University will be at the UNSW campus at Kay Siang Road from Tuesday till June 1 to help the students with their applications and address their queries.
UNSW has also arranged with a number of private education providers to send their representatives to provide information and help to students at the campus.
The statement said the Singapore government understands the uncertainty and anxiety faced by the affected students and their parents following UNSW's announcement to close its Singapore campus.
The Singapore agencies will work with UNSW to help them in the best way possible.
