A few questions

Erm, I'm going Japan on 3rd December for a 10 days trip, I'm not going with my family but with my friend and her family. I have a few questions.

Right now, My main problem would be exchanging money. I'm thinking of exchanging $2000, is that enough for about 10 days trip? Accommodation is more or less settled because I'll be staying with my friend's family house. How should I exchange it? I mean, do I have to bring the whole amount to the money exchanger and exchange it? ( Stupid question I know LOL! ) I don't feel secure holding that big sum of money outdoors. Also, any recommended money exchanger? I'm living in the central area.

Another problem would be, my friend told me that those 2 days ticket to tokyo disneyland is only entitled to tourists who are living in nearby hotels ( or hotels in disneyland itself?? ) I'm not sure about that myself. Could someone confirm this?

Lastly, Since it's early December, is there still good spots for scenery? I won't be going to another region. Most probably staying within Tokyo/Chiba area.

Edit: Oh yes, how crowded is it in Tokyo disneyland on a tuesday/wednesday when it's a normal day? ( No school holidays / everyone working etc etc )

Thank you

Re: A few questions

actually, your friend in JP is the best person to confirm ticket@disneyland. they should have enough local knowledge about it. if not, can always check internet for the info.

note: weekdays can be crowded too. although theoretically, there should be less ppl at park in winter.

some days, the park closes early, so note the schedule:

as for scenery, tokyo @ christmas is the best scenery!
ginza, roppongi hills, odaiba (ok that is slightly out of tokyo, same as disneyland), shinjuku and shibuya, all those places will be fab for photo taking. check out their christmas trees!

money changing:
best done in SG before going. rates overseas are seldom favourable.
how to keep that load of cash. get a jacket with an inner pocket (that can be zipped up). get a waist pouch. split the dough between them and your wallet.
once you get into your friend's home, you can ask her dad to keep some of the cash for you. or lock some of it it up in your luggage bag.
if you are just paying for food and train rides and buying stuff, SGD 2k is just about right.

Re: A few questions

Thanks for answering some of my worries !

My friend is living in Singapore as well, she only went disneyland once when she was very young so she couldn't remember much. Another friend of mine saw it in the forums that the 2 days+ ticket is only applicable to tourist in the area. But I think, it might have been a misunderstanding ( I mean, Why would disneyland have such strange rules O.O? )

I totally forgot about the christmas decorations XD!! It's definitely a must-see.

Re: A few questions

If you exchange the $2000 then the whole money will be 155259 YEN. And i think it is the sufficient amount for 10 days trip. And as far as i know, there is no rule like that "2 days ticket to tokyo disneyland is only entitled to tourists who are living in nearby hotels ( or hotels in disneyland itself?? )".
