great. hope to meet up soon and maybe exchange some practice routine tips.

tune, just go peninsular there see lah. if you serious about it. get a decent guitar. set butget 400-500 for electric or 200 for acoustic. consider it an investment. better have a nice sounding guitar to learn with than some cheap stuff. the sounds will be different.

I beg differ, for starter, go for an electric guitar of 400-500 kinda over
250-350 would already have a big range of decent electric guitar already

Beginner pack can get it at lesser than 200

yes lex. but like i said, its an investment. might as well get a decent set that lasts you instead of spending 2 3 hundred now to spend another 5 6 hundred in 3 4 months time. a decent amp is also very important, not just the guitar.

and maith lol! tune i know abit, but restringing, i watched videos but havent actually tried, so need to learn. but scared leh lol.

Aren't you contradicting what you said?
You said beginner pack, now you're sayin decent set

And you also said beginner pack for 400-500, that's over 'beginner' level price range

Anyway, it's just a safe investment
If you can't even play a guitar well, even getting a gibson is still useless
What if you realised your interests for guitar die out in less than 3 months?
You would be wasting your 400-500 already isn't it?

XD i can change strings,but very messy

ive changed my 1st string twice alr because it broke when i was trying to 'tune' it n it just went twang! almost whip my face xD and the other time when i carry the guitar the wrong way D:

bass only got 4 strings while the other one has 6 strings. And for bass u use finger to pick

&if what you says happens, then its that person's problem lor, he wasted his money. i did mention if you're serious though. :\

Nope. You can use a plectrum to play your bass, which gives your bass a sharper attack and a nice percussive sound to it.
You can use fingering method, but it gets a little tiring.
For Funk and Jazz styles, you can pop and slap the bass to give it a very nice percussive sound that really grooves

Furthermore, a Bass concentrates more on the bass notes. The lowest note it is normally set to is an E1, whereas guitars are tuned so that E2 is the lowest note.

Actually, if you're considering to seriously learn how to play an electric guitar, I would recommend to really consider forking out a little more cash to get a decent guitar.
There are cheap guitars around 250 to 350 price, but as you progress further and improve in your playing, you will find that you will need a better guitar to achieve the tone and sound that you need.
Sooner or later, you will find that you will need to upgrade your gear to suit the style you play. Which would lead to another round of forking out cash to upgrade all your gear. And most cheap guitars do not have a good resale value. So you'll end up splashing out more cash this way as compared to getting a good guitar from the very beginning

tuning guitar jus need a tuner can le.. chords progression are easy, once u noe which chords to mix wif which chords, u can make a nice melody out of it ^^

interested in learning the guitar....have 2 guitar at home but didnt use it and have absoulutely zero knowledge about it.....
been busy upgrading my piano skills though and I am not sure how to start learning guitar...

anyways, i visited 2 shops today,
*mistaken penisula plaza & mall, the first smelled DISASTROUS*

@ davis,
a malay guy helped me out ^^, he's quite patient & i think he REALLY likes to play guitar... he played 2 of the display sets for me to get an idea how it sounds... the sad thing is, the brands are not any i found on the net & being a newb, i have complete NO idea if its a wise choice to make to buy the sets and all.

main thing: my mind went 'UH OH' when i entered the shop, coz there were juz... too many... +W+

@ bras besah, i only found ranking music store...
an uncle helped me out there, he didn't play the guitar & all... (kinda pity a kid who picked an acoustic off the rack to try playing-he got a scolding) he introduced a light blue colored fender strat(?forgot which model) which costs around S$300(?), but i kinda get the feeling that he's 'sian' of me ---T.T---T.T

same ol', didn't really know what to do when i entered the store...

the conclusion: CAN SOME1 ACCOMPANY ME TO HELP (99.99%) PICK AN ELECTRIC GUITAR??? PLZZZZZ!!!

edit: ok... buying or not, i'll just have to let the sticks fall...

Swee Lee around the corner near Ranking Sports.
I don't really like Ranking Sports, the uncle isn't friendly at all. I only go there when i'm sure of what i want to get.
