Any Daihatsu Copen drivers here??

My lil sis is considering getting the Copen because of its cute factor. I generally think it's a tad too tiny...
Are there any Copen owners around? Any comments on this model? Thanks in Advance!

Serious...?!

I think the road tax for this car is cheap! 660cc only

Re: Any Daihatsu Copen drivers here??

I was interested in the Copen at one point in time, it's 660cc like what esatic said.

Road tax may be cheap, but the car it self isn't.

The car is also very squeezy and a little too small for my liking. I like my cars small, light and with good handling, but I thought the Copen was a little too small.

Still, if your sis likes it, overall I think the Copen is a passable deal.

Hmm... i read some reviews that you actually cant put much stuffs in it. So this should be more like a second or OPC car? She's asking me to share the Copen with her but I really find it waaay smaller than my Fit...

Re: Any Daihatsu Copen drivers here??

If it's a second car then go for it if you don't mind spending the cash. I think the Copen will be a fun car to drive around. (If you can justify and afford the price)

Re: Any Daihatsu Copen drivers here??

let me share wat i know on the copen

- max speed is 140km/h (very low, but understandable for a 660cc car)
- handles corner well due to the low centre of gravity.
- roof has some problem, have to off restart car engine for roof to get working again, meaning the roof will be half open in mid air.
- when roof is down, the boot at the back cannot put anything.

personal preference. see how yr younger sister uses it.

if roof is open, the passenger seat will have to be sacrificed to put the stuff, not nice if there is another passenger in car.

a point a to point b car, considering that roof isn't open.

If she really likes an open top car, I'm sold on the Honda S2000. (Sell the other car and she can get it liao! )

Seriously though, I think people place too much emphasis on storage space. Most of the time, people drive with one other person in the car and maybe a bag or two. Most cars can fit that much in whatever space they have. I'm sure the Copen as well, no? (Get the passenger to carry the bags if you need to. LOL)
