i just applied for paypal account, but put my 1st name and last name wrongly.

for example: david lee ah wang,
i put 1st name as david lee, last name as ah wang.
read in other sites that 1st name is david ah wang, and last name is lee.

my bank acc name is (eg) lee ah wang, david. so if i put like what other sites put, my name will be david ah wang, lee, which is different.

anyone with exp., please share.

(darn these 1st name, 2nd name, we dun have these craps...i think.)

and also to share these info that i found:

bank name: DBS Bank Ltd (for DBS and POSB, DO NOT use POSB for POSB accs!)
Institution code: 7171
Branch Code: 081 (for POSB)
Branch Code for DBS: first 3 numbers in ur bank acc no.

i only use my given name and my surname (as last name)
so far, havent had the need to withdraw anything from paypal.. i just use paypal for credit/debit card transactions loh..
if you worry about it, why not email them?

You can send in a request to change the name position having your surname in front. Problem arise when they transfer money to your bank account.

And of course, use DBS instead of POSB as suggested if you're using that bank.

I have a paypal account...so far collected some US$ from oversea auction buyer. Dont think withdrawal is affected by ur name...important is your account no. must be right. anyway get it change by sending them a email. if u r not sure of the bank code or branch code call the bank..they will tell u.

Don't have to panic. There are few alternatives to your questions.

1) Write to paypal to inform about your changing of names.
2) Create another paypal account with correct name, transfer the other acc detail to the newly created one and terminate the old acc.
3) Used DBS debit card as payment mode. Money can be deposited and withdrawn easily.

Just my few cts. Above are what i used to face before.:biggrin4:

SGC$ can be exchanged for SGD de..every 1k SGC$ = 10 SGD

I used to have this problem also. And yes its a worry especially when you want to withdraw. I thought by having my account number correct but my first and last name wrong, they will still credit the money to my bank account. I am wrong! Paypal took one month to inform me that my first and last name is wrong. And all this time, I thought it would take that long to get the money in my account.

However, I have got the problem rectified. All you need to do is to close your current account and open another one. Thsi time make sure that your name tallies to that of your bank account name. Even a small spelling error won't get them to transfer the money.

For example, your name is Susan Tan Lee Lee. You spell it as Susan Tan Lee Lie. You still won't get your money. Make sure yo spell it correctly. Hope this helps. If you still unsure, PM me. I will guide you further.

I created a new paypal account because my name was wrong, and I faxed them 2 times to change, but there was no change. So, I simply just made a new account. The problem with the name is the withdrawal of cash from you paypal account, to your bank account. I think the name must be the same. I was worry about that issue to, thats why creating a new account after settling everything at the account is still best.

nothing to worry about.
it all depends on the mode of transaction that you opt for.
how you do the transfer/deposit of fund and what method that you choose eg thru credit card, bank-wired transfer and so on...

usually people buy and sell funds online. rates are better than else where.
