Gender: | Re: Anyone plays the ufo catcher? illuma depends. some of the big toys are not tough to catch but will need to use a lot of $$. Because their big toys are around $2 - $3 per try.
They have lots of toys which can be bought outside. Other arcades like tka have lots of sega disney plush which are not sold outside. Hence depend on what you are looking for. Some of the items at illuma are cheap items which can be bought outside and is not worth spending the $ to catch.
Some of the machines are hopeless. If the same plush are always there week after week most prob not much chance. Like d totoro machines.
Sometimes catching one depends on plain luck. Esp for the 3 claw machines.
Marina sq is getting tougher or is it juz me. ever since they moved out frm the small store to the bigger area they seem to have tweaked their machines. the person there once told me that have to aim for the chance in order to catch. den i totally give up.

Gender: | Re: Anyone plays the ufo catcher? east coast has but it sucks like hell.
many of the toys are fake!
started playing there regularly for a couple of months already then find out his toys mostly all fake one
then the owner also very attitude.
if you catch alot of his expensive toys he will kaopeh u lor.
marina square one is quite okay for me leh.
i just came back from there
always manage to catch quite a few toys from there leh.
and the toys are original
there also got a few regulars and they always catch alot too!
i think for illuma the machines with food easier to catch =x
but the ice cream machine damn cool!
i think bugis virtualand not bad also
as for the 3 claw one also got tactic to win =x
eg,the positioning of the claw, how much it turns when it go down..etc.
maybe can exchange tips here and bring more toys home! |

Gender: | Re: Anyone plays the ufo catcher? Over this weekend my wife and I got into this "eViL" addiction. Went around tka (bugis, plaza sing, suntec), x-zone (amk), illuma, prize world (plaza sing basement 1). Ended up not able to win anything from tka, x zone and illuma. I just sux at this.
In the end, a staff at prize world took pity of me and gave me some tips. So at least now can get 1 toy with every $10-15^^; Spent $85 there today and came home with 8 toys, but most important my wife is happy^^
Think prize world in plaza sing is same company as the east coast one (that's what I heard from the staff). Some toys are without labels, but majority we caught are with. Dunno real label or not lah^^; |

Gender: | Re: Anyone plays the ufo catcher? yupp, plaza sing branch and ecp branch under same pple.
but not advisable to go to the ecp branch in my opinion.
oooh.the staff that helped you at prize world is it the petite girl with short hair?
she's rather nice
i frequent ms now
usually will go at night cause im not much of a day person =x
i dont usually keep track of how many toys i catch though.
average would be about 1-2 bags =/
maybe we'll bump into each other someday |

Gender: | Re: Anyone plays the ufo catcher? Was at MS just now, managed to get a clock and a walking bear for around $20. But wasted $30 on the baby chopper, yet dun get anything Think I sux, and the lady positioning like not helping much also.
So ended up go plaza sing again to get some comfort Saw new toys, most are original but not exclusive for ufo machine. Managed to grab a pair of baby panda mickey and minnie, an army pooh bear and a mickey cushion with help from the staff again Wasted $65 |

Gender: | Re: Anyone plays the ufo catcher? If you guys love UFO catchers and have the cash,
i strongly recommend you go Taiwan.
They have TONS of it,
and they are quite honest.
They have signs to tell you that If a certain amount has been inserted, you will definitely get the item.
You can either
1. Try your luck, say it needs 20 coins, and the people before you already did like 18 coins.
2. You can just pour in the required money, and you def. get the item.
It's seriously fun.
Below are some pix i took of the machines there (:
The one and only thing i caught (:
