Re: Anyone been to Sapa, Vietnam?

The weather in most places in Vietnam is hot while in Sapa is cold. It is a great place and Mark Zuckerberg, the owner of facebook and his girlfriend decided to Visit in 2011.

Re: Anyone been to Sapa, Vietnam?

This article were commented by our clients after tour so this might give you ideas, overview of the trip. I hope it helps.
We booked the 2 days/1night Halong Bay cruise and Sapa homestay through the Tour With Lap website which they had the option for combined trip to Sapa in the mountains to the North West of Hanoi. Given that we wanted to maximise our time and because of the convenience and our limited time, we booked this trip, 5 nights and 6 days of adventure for about $ 359 each for me and my wife.

V’ Spirit was great. Food was tasty, varied and plentiful. Kayaking and swimming was excellent. Cabin nice size with great bathroom. Other activities as well were great as per other reviews. Drive up and back was not too comfortable because of the length but the bus was OK and it is only the way you can get to Halong city. The roads were bit bumpy but exciting scenery on the way was a bonus. All in all, fantastic trip. Our guide Lan was great and very funny and made us feel at ease. The rest of the crew were very good as well. Great service throughout.

After the transfer back to Hanoi, we were taken to Hotel in centre of Hanoi for last sightseeing walk around and head out for dinner before picked up to the train station for Sapa train departed at 9:15 pm. Hotel was good with warm atmosphere and it was just use for few hours .The hotel offers perfectly fine for a shower and change of clothes. We went to small restaurant with a lovely owner, cheap authentic food. We were met at 8:00 pm to be escorted to a train with 4 persons per cabin with sleeper carriage for the overnight to Lao Cai. Carriage was clean and comfortable bed. We shared a cabin with a lovely Aussi couple. Perhaps, you can pay extra for all 4 berths. But both slept fine since were tired from our busy day.

Arrived 6:00 am in Lao Cai picked up by private van by our excellent guide, Mr. Tam. 45 minutes drive with great scenery to Sapa and Fansipan View Hotel. Breakfast was included at the hotel with lovely pancake and lovely Vietnamese coffee and plenty of fruits.
Our local tour guide Tam meet us at the hotel lobby again and showing us early morning local market down town. It was amazing scene of trading of local people. We followed a road going downhill to Cat Cat village stop by a waterfall and a hydroelectric station for a great pictures before you trek on a dirt trail through rice paddy terraces. We enjoy spectacular scenery while walking along a narrow river. We eventually arrive in Y Linh Ho village of Black H’Mong minority, We had a rest while we served lunch nearby the river. It was so peaceful and relax.

After lunch we head down to Muong Hoa valley. We passed through Lao Chai village of Black H’Mong minority and then Ta Van village of Giay minority by following a very popular trekking route we did spend a night in local house of Giay minority. You will be able to take a walk to enjoy the valley view, while our guide and owner of the house are preparing the dinner. Dinner was so delicious with homemade spring rolls and Vietnamese rice wine.
We ready up with energy for our last day trek in Sapa by having lovely breakfast, we left for Giang Ta Chai village of Red Dao minority. We trekked through bamboo forest, which belongs to Hoang Lien National Park. On the way we passed by a waterfall where we had time to take a rest and enjoy the surroundings. we stoped at a hut for lovely picnich lunch with stunning view.

After lunch, we continued forward Su Pan, a small village located by the road where our bus waiting us to drive back to Sapa.
Spending a night at the Fansipan View Hotel in Sapa. The hotel was good, clean and good shower. We went out for hotpot dinner on our own before a good night sleep in soft bed after one more beatiful adventure day. Next day in Sapa we just spent easy haft day walk around the town, done bit of shopping before private bus back to Lao Cai, quick look at Chinese Border and dinner included before we were dropped back onto our overnight train to Hanoi. Despite the rocking and noisy train we slept well again. It was a good balance the whole way of activities and free time and was a highlight of our holiday. Both Ha Long Bay and Sapa were stunningly beautiful in different ways and Tour With Lap helped us experience and enjoy both with out of our expectation. We are highly recommended this tour Halong bay and Sapa tour packages to minimine your stress with worry free.
