Re: Anyone took courses in Kaplan Singapore?

Kaplan is a great institute, multi-cultural so you get to interact with people from all over the world while learning. It depends with the course you are interested in and the lecturers cooperate and assist students when they can. What course are you interested in?

Re: Anyone took courses in Kaplan Singapore?

The courses at Kaplan are many. Depending on what you are into, they have part time and full time courses. There are courses in Accounting, Banking, Business administration, psychology, communication, Human Resource, Tourism, Finance, engineering, cyber forensics, information security and others. They are also offered in diploma, degree and masters level. I checked them out since I am also interested in what they offer. Anyone with an experience?

Re: Anyone took courses in Kaplan Singapore?

Is Kaplan really that good? A lot of my friends are skeptical of the "value" of being a graduate because the courses are so damn short.

not much difference from other private degrees if you ask me. my friend studying in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Murdoch is doing well at RWS now.

Re: Anyone took courses in Kaplan Singapore?

From what I've heard Kaplan is the cheapest but by just a little compared to say SMF Institute.

there are no multimedia courses to pursue? Man now I'm worried I have limited options to continue my studies in multimedia.

I think it's alright...they have degrees from Murdoch and UOL, which are quite recognized in singapore.

Re: Anyone took courses in Kaplan Singapore?

I have been told that the short classes means that things are rushed often. Ability to study by yourself is very important.

I think it's 3 hours. First lecture, then a 15 min break followed by tutorial.

Does Kaplan have a library and study corners? Also, are the lecturers easy to contact?

Yes they do. Also, you will have the email address of your lecturers, so they are very easy to reach, and usually reply you very quickly.

Australian degrees are pretty much the same in all the schools here, problem is that they don't have honours, you will need to go to Australia to get them.

Why is it necessary to get honours? Because the cert is less recognized than NTU/NUS?

my only concern is the course fees, the shorter duration and also real recognition in the private sector. i believe the govt sector don't really recognize DL degrees ???
