Gender: | Asics vs. Mizuno vs. Adidas
i dunno if this is the correct place to post this, so if im really wrong please move this to the correct section thanks =)
anw im tinking of getting a pair of shoes for running and is considering between these 3 brands.
budget around $200 and i will at most run 10km if i really feel like it, if not most probably 5-7km. i dunno if this is considered long distance running, so when i look at the shoes i dunno which i should get.
also, is there any good shops that sell a wide range of shoes and can offer good advice on which i can get? |

Gender: | Re: Asics vs. Mizuno vs. Adidas For me, adidas is out. don't really like it. Very cheapskate feel, as though they use child labourers from 3rd world country to make. =/
I've been using the Mizuno wave rider 10 since I started running bout a year n half ago.
Since then, this pair of shoes has been thru a half marathon, couple of 7/10km events, 2 full marathons, plus all the training runs in between.
I like it because it's very neutral and comfortable once seasoned.. Just gotten myself a new pair of wave rider 11 and now still seasoning it. =)
I've tried Saucony also, coz of the discount at the Passion Run. but i feel Mizuno is much better since it's designed for Asian feet,
Asics, I've always wanted to try.... but there're quite ex and I heard that they wear out faster.
You have to try different shoes from each brand. The different model names are actually for different types of arches and support they provide.
Once you found a shoes that matches your feet, you will never look back~
It's better if you go to a specialized running shop, then they can measure your feet and see your arch type to better match a shoe to you.
Definately under $200. My Mizunos were only $130+? when i bought it in June, during the GSS period.

Gender: | Re: Asics vs. Mizuno vs. Adidas asics is very expensive. every pair cost approx. 200 dollars? i heard that it's good, but never tried it before (too expensive for me). many sportsmen wear that, though... mizuno is heavy, i find it... my pair is addidas for cross-training, but i find it not really suitable for long running, which i used to do alot every single day while wearing it. in the end, my ankle kind of hurts due to the not-so-good ankle support.

Gender: | Re: Asics vs. Mizuno vs. Adidas durability, i think mizuno most durable, asics come next, addidas last. pricing depends on the shoe type, the different base/sole, ankle support, weight etc, so unable to compare that easily. mizuno 100-200 can get a pair. asics must more than 200 ba, unless offer? addidas around 150 ba.

typeX: any shops to recommend me? all i know is runninglab. | Yep.. but they are stable and supportive, very gd for long distance. At the most, the extra weight can help train you even more. lol~
For the extra weight, I find it harder to run the 2.4km for the mizuno compared to my non-supportive n lighter adidas (dunno which model).
Easier to run shorter dist with lighter shoes, but for long dist (anything above 5kms), can really feel that you're tired faster.
Heavier shoes somehow has some momentum to keep you going.
For me i decided on mizu before, so i went directly to the Mizuno shop at Vivo.
At the shop, tried out different shoes before finding the wave rider to be most comfortable.
There's another model wave creation i think? I find it weird coz can feel have something extra inside at the arch area. =/
Afterall, shoes only get u that far. The rest is up to you
btw, i'll try to take a pic of my soles tmr to maybe give some idea on the durability?

Gender: | Re: Asics vs. Mizuno vs. Adidas This is how the mizus look like after a year of use.. maybe ard 600+kms mileage? not including walking.
Compared with a new pair. hope this helps:
erm.. i don't have the adidas ones with me anymore. But they are more worn out than the mizus though they have much lesser mileage.
Only used them before i got the mizus, and after that only for IPPT.
