Are you kidding? Should you spend more time on reading newspaper. So far nothing happen, but who knows during the big rally on Mar 14. If something goes wrong I think you might want to change your destination.

PS: Avoid Bangkok as for now

Re: Is Bangkok Safe for large group of people?

Bangkok was like a war zone in the last couple of days with fires everywhere. There were sounds of gunshots all over the prostest area.

A number of buildings were severely damaged in the ensuring maddness, buildings including the Central World, Thailand Stock Exchange and others were left burning.

The Thai Govt had declared a 1 week hoilday since last monday to prevent and deter innocent civilians from roaming the street. Curfew are also in place in Bangkok and some other 23 provinces. Pattaya's curfew was lifted since Friday.

The Thai Govt will announce tonight if the curfew are to remain.

There are still pockets of resistance in Bangkok as well as in some Northern and Northeastern provinces where the Red Shirts strongholds are located.

Foreigners, as long as they avoid those affected areas and do no take sides are relatively still alright.

Bangkok is in the process of rehealing and rebuilding. It will take years before this incident is forgotten.
