Um... just wondering...

If they are those Black shops... how come the relevant authorities do not step in to monitor and curb them? So now, the responsility is on the consumer. Buy it at your own risk?

if i'm not wrong got quite a few people make police report already..

I think it's on the 3rd level.

Anyway, read the other sticky on blackshop tactics... if you're buying a gaming set, do be aware of your rights, like checking the package's contents and if they tell you no stock must put deposit just say no. Very common tactic used in SLS also... don't fall for it!

Only hand over your money when you know what you're getting!

reporting to police only makes the buyer feel better. it wont make anything improve. well, unless we have really great police.

actually based on my experience, most of the 1-2 storey game shops selling PSPs are scammers. My friend was scammed by one of the corner shops before, not sure what was the name of it. Hurled vulgarities at aunties trying to bargain with the prices too. I'm sure you can get a lot of info on those shops at other tech forums

Just Games @ J8 sold my friend a PSP2000 for like 400 bucks and said some crap about it being a latest model and so hard to mod thats why expensive whats more is that no accesory came with it just the PSP and a mem card.GRR
also they sold me a faulty mem card and then cant prove anything cause their store if u notice dont give receipts one

Seriously, the contact/hp numbers should be listed as well. There are many clones selling consoles and they might be the same shop advertising with a different nick.

I don't think making police report will work, file case more better. not soo sure and of cuz, unless the police is really good den lucky

good! kill all the blacklisted shop! make them feel the shame!!

TS, why not post something else like (how to check is mod or not) or like (before you buy, must blah blah blah and so on) like that

I think there's a common misconception that bad policemen can't help victims solve this kind of "dispute" and that good ones can.

The bottomline is this kinda "scam" is not seizable (i.e. cannot arrest) unless there is enough evidence on the spot to prove that the shop is definitely scamming (very rare). That is why the police will have to investigate internally and also refer you to CASE as they are better equipped to help victims resolve scamming disputes.

Of course, the police will still investigate but normally these cases go straight to the Small Claims Tribunal so yeah, the police aren't really well-equipped to deal with these kind of cases.

Policemen are normal people like you and me. They're not Supermen who can solve everything
