This is what I have encountered with a seller from SgClub aka d_n_s_e_2. Just to inform you guys about it. Not to flame anyone. I painstakingly typed all this so that you guys get to learn something from my experience. Everything here is not edited.

All the boring stuff from here….It will be interesting later. I promise.

Me: Where do you do meet ups? what price r u selling?

Seller: Hi, can opt for postage instead? and i'll charge at $4.50 will do. (: let me know if you are okay with it yeah..

It is the pure physics matters used by last batch? Condition is still fine?

If you don't have a UOB account, you can use the cash deposit machine actually to transfer the amount over. (:

So total would be: $4.50 + $2.55(according to singpost rates) = $7.05.. But i'll round it up to $7 instead yeah.. (:

Seller: Hi, i've checked the map. and it's really farrr away from my house. I can meet up only at Hougang/Sengkang/Kovan MRT. For extreme cases, i can meet up at Ang Mo Kio instead.. But Bedok/boonlay is really far, so i'm afraid it's not quite possible. Unless you might want to pay more for transport fee, cause it's at 2 extreme ends.

Me: Hmm... harbourfront possible? North-east line quite wulu.. haha..what's the condition of the book?

MMS sent by seller: Hi, let me know if this is the right book yeah? Thanks!

Me- 3.35pm: Yup, I am going to transfer now thru posb atm. So do let me know when u receive the money. Den I’ll give u the address.

Seller- 3.38 pm: Hey, you transfer already?? Don’t transfer yet if you have not..

Me- 3.39pm: Y? Going to atm now.

Seller- 3.41pm: Omg, so fast? Cause I just checked my email and found out someone is willing to pay a higher price for the book…

Me- 3.42pm: Ya. Already on my way. So since we agreed, den now wad?

Seller- 3.44pm: Hmm, the person offered 12 bucks… Are you willing to pay a higher price than that..?

Me- 3.45pm: u shld ust tell the person that the bk is sold. U have me a price and we agreed b4 u read the email.

Seller- 3.50pm: In the email, everything is not settled yet, so I don’t really know whether you’ll buy or not. And at one point, you said you’ll give it a miss. So how would I know whether you’ll not do it again? But well, ok, you came first, so how about 11 bucks and I’ll tell the person the deal’s off?

Me- 3.52pm: U sms me rite? So we r continuing the deal rite? Den you mms me. And I said yes, dats the bk I want and I will do the transfer now.

Seller- 3.57pm: How I know you won’t back out now? nothing is settled as long as the money’s not transferred. So anyway, you still want to buy at $11? The other person raised up to 15 already but I’m still saying no cause you came first. I’m so so sorry but yeah. Please understand this is a business.

Me- 4.02pm: I’ll just take a bus home. Just my luck.

Seller- 4.06pm: Look, now you make me feel guilty. Wth.okok min 10 bucks if you can find a uob cash deposit account nearby and deposit. No bank account needed. This way I can get the money immediately and post the book the first thing tomorrow morning. I’ll try to make the rest of the deal less painful. So how about that? I’m willing to give up 5 additional bucks already ok wth.

Me- 4.07pm: Just sell the book away. I dunt want to damage your profit.

Seller-4.08pm: wth I am willing to give way to you because I feel guilty after doing that and this is what I get from you. Thanks a lot man.

Me- 4.11pm: Ya, I know. Thanks. But that's way out of my budget. You can sell it away at $15. Dats better 4 u rite?

Seller- 4.15pm: yes, it is, and I think I will do that, but just to let you know that the original price of the book is almost 30 dollars. So actually my price is still cheaper than a lot out there already. Sorry and have a nice day.

actually, i agree with the seller. some people deals like that one hahas. and you havent really comfirmed the deal have you? you asked for the photo, then next min say you on way to transfer money liao.. fast and good on your part, but before that did you tell the seller that youve comfirmed the deal?

but as for raising price up is wrong liao lo. hahas.

i hv the same experience too but it happens at another forum. wanted to buy a shirt from a seller den i mus ask for the size first before confirm cos it stated size S but different shirt hv different sizing mah. after confirm with her everything and i told her i want it alry, she went MIA for several days. after waiting for ard 3 days still no reply so i email her agn and ask her hw's the clothes? she reply me ' sorry the shirt is sold cos i had another buyer who offer to buy at a higher price.'
so i reply her tt i hv alry confirm with her tt i wan it but she is the one hu nv reply my email den nw when i auto email her, she say the shirt is sold. and guess wat, she say pls understand tt its part and parcel of doin a online business and somemore the buyer offer a higher price.

hmm..maybe i didn't use the word CONFIRM. but i did confirm that that was the book i want and i will be transferring her the money. and i swear i was on my way to the atm.

o actually wanted to buy chem matters from her .. x.x , but I bought it from a really nice seller(: ..haven experience this kind of unfortunate incident..yepp will be more aware in the future..If seller suddenly tell me that another buyer is willing to pay more and ask me to raise too, I'll be so pissed lo. After so many smses/email and stuff, somemore even give account no. waste time waste sms..

once I bought a top from a blogshop and already settled with the blogowner the time, place, day to meet up. on the day itself, I was already halfway to the meeting place (yishun mrt) when she called me up and said she couldnt sell it to me anymore cos someone else offered twice the price I was paying.

I was like WTF I'm practically there alrd! And her reply, "If you agree to pay a higher price, you come meet me at boon lay in 20 minutes time."

I told her really angrily that I didn't want it anymore, and went home.


the blogshop has closed down muahaha. (forgot the url alrd but yea the last time I checked, it's gone)

just be firm and sure of what you're willingly to pay.
but these things kinda hard to put 100% trust. they could be online this minute, and before you know it they're gone. and even if reported, i wonder who will take up the case when the sum involved is only $10+?
