Yes he would, but he would ask me about my history with them first. Like as in how I met them, how good is the friendship and etc. One on one go out, yes. One on one date, no.

Never tried. But I'm not comfortable with going out 1-to-1 with a male friend. Unless it's my classmate, then have to lunch over at the canteen while waiting for class to start. But I think my bf doesn't mind cos we have a lot of common friends, so basically he knows all my friends.

unless the guys came with their gf, then he wouldn't say anything.

Eg, Anyone could be just friends but is it close friendship or just acquaintance is part of the importance here too. Theres a difference with going out with some guy that you dont know anything about that you know for about 3 months and a guy who's been childhood friends with you for 10 years.
Something might still happen with the close friend but like you said, managing with maturity and the commitment towards the relationship. If you know something's about to happen or sparkle, step back and make a full stop to it.
Mutual trust is equally important. Letting the partner know about the details of the friendship towards that guy, and reassuring him. Guys have to be reassured. etc etc.
