Are you proud of breastfeeding your baby? Then, share your pride and joys of breastfeeding! Take part in BMSG(S) inaugural, breastfeeding photo contest, a contest based on photos of yourself breastfeeding your baby breastfeeding. American

There will be 3 categories based on the age of your child in the photographs –
1. Infant – 0-10months
2. Toddler – 11-20mths
3. Kiddy – 20months and above

All submission will receive a certificate of participation and vouchers from our corporate supporters.

Guidelines
It is our sincere desire that we provide a little joy to each family that comes in touch with BMSG(S).

How to enter the contest
1. Download the application form. Then fill in the form, enclosed your crossed cheque and mail it together with your child’s breastfeeding photo(s).
2. The fees for the photography contest is $12. Please addressed the crossed cheque to “”BMSG(S)”.
3. Please write your name, your child’s name, gender and age in the photo, your contact number and the category for the photo to be judge.
4. You may submit more than one photograph per form. The judges will select one photo from the many that you have submitted.
5. Due to the age of your child in the photo, each photo can only be judge based on one category.
6. The child’s legal guardian must sign the application form and email it to the address specified in the form.
Once we have received your application form and crossed cheque, your child’s photo(s) will be immediately entered into the contest.

Selection process: A panel of four breastfeeding mothers with an experienced eye for beauty (with no vested interest in who wins) carefully views each and every photo without exception and with no prejudice in regards to sex, race, or age. To start, once all the photos are in each judge gets to choose as many photos as she wants. Then a selection process takes place usually over several days. All judges come together through this process to reach a group decision on the final winners. The judges are committed to being impartial and choosing winners of a wide variety. All Judges decisions are final.

The photos will all be judged on 10 Aug. The deadline for all photos to reach us will be 9 Aug. You may enter your child in more than one category. Winners will be notified by mail for the prize presentation on 16 Aug 2008, Sat at the NVPC.

Judges’ tips
1. Judges can only judge based on whatever photo or photos you sent. That is why the photo or photos that you choose to send is so vitally important. You want to send several photos per form, to ensure your child is looking their best.

2. You only need to submit one photo but we recommend sending several with one or multiple forms. Each form will be regarded as a separate entry.

3. Ensure that the photo is clear not blurry or grainy and that you or your child does not have "red-eye" in the photo. Lighting makes a big difference. Photos too light are washed out or too dark and shadowed lack definition and contrast.
FAQs
1. Why is there a judging fee?
To pay for contest costs, prizes and the many supporting costs.

2. What is the prize?
Winners receive a photo frame with child's picture mounted under glass, their picture displayed on BMSG(S) website and parents/ guardians of the child will be invited to receive hampers sponsored by BMSG(S) corporate supporters during the World Breastfeeding Week Celebrations.

3. How many winners are there per contest?
The number of winners in total is 12.

4. Who can enter?
Any family who lives Singapore is welcome to enter their child in the contest. You do not need to be a citizen.

5. Can I enter over the Internet?
We apologise that currently this is not possible.

6. How would I know if my child has won immediately after judging?
When the judges completed their judging, winners and all participants will be notified via email. If you'd like to find out who the winners are after judging, see www.breastfeeding.org.sg.

7. Can I submit professionally taken photo's, or head shots from agencies?
Yes, but the tone of the contest is not one of professional models. In addition, you must own the copyrights to any photos you submit.

8. What happens if I win?
Winners must sign a Photo Release Form. This enables BMSG(S) to post your child's photos on the website and other publications of BMSG(S) and their corporate supporters.
