Re: budget hotel in bangkok

hey there i've posted this in your thread "Re: flights to bangkok"

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ahh i just happened to see this thread.

i went over to bangkok last week with a friend of mine.

we booked via zuji.com.sg .... its 408 for ticket (Cathay Pacific) + 5 nights hotel stay (4* + 5 mins walk from nana station)

you can try that in the future though
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I did a search under 'Package' in zuji.com.sg for you.... you can get jetstar tickets (taxes included) + 4 nights stay for about less than 350 SGD per person.

you might want to try to cancel your flight via jetstar if you can. As it's really much cheaper through zuji.com.sg.

I'm not advertising for them, it's because i booked with them about 3 weeks ago and went bangkok last week.

hopefully i helped. =)

Look for Citin Pratunam Bangkok, situated in the middle of a weekend market, in the central of many shopping malls, 24 hours convenient store right at the hotel doorway and free internet access within the hotel room LAN (just bring your cable) if not use it at the reception lounge.

I would say quite good service and the room is good. Last year I went, it is about $30 per person (2 in a room).

Re: budget hotel in bangkok

Okay, I was asked by a few members about Citin Pratunam, might as well post here.

This hotel has complimentary tuktuk service. Last year when I was there, I was lost and clueless about where I am so I simply phoned the hotel and told them I was lost and they drove me back to the hotel - which I think is a very good service in case you get lost.

You can choose between the Twin or Deluxe of which the difference is mainly on whether you want 2 single beds or 1 queen bed.

http://www.asiatravel.com/thailand/citin/location.html

As you can see from the map, it's situated diagonally opposite Baiyoke Sky Hotel, which is in between 2 weekends markets (Indra and Pratunam). Platinum Mall is about 5-7 minutes walk (if you don't get distracted by the other stuff selling while walking out. Nearest BTS Station will be Ratchathewi or Siam (it's in between both) - all walkable distance. If you are willing to walk further down, actually MBK is also nearby.

When I was there, I took their BTS service most of the time, it's only when I have too many bags of barang then I take cab. Just take a free map at the airport, they will teach you how to get around BKK in the map guide as well.

Anyway, my most expensive cab fare around BKK has never exceeded SGD$10 (except the one where you take from airport to hotel and hotel to airport, 300-400 baht).

Have a good trip, people!

Re: budget hotel in bangkok

I didn't really buy a lot of stuff from MBK and Siam - expensive! But visit Loft at MBK, I think the girls will get stuck there with all the cute stationaries. Personally got dragged out of the area by my bf because I couldn't stop buying. HAHAHA!

Girl, you are totally going on the same dates that I want to go! Maybe we should exchange number and meet up to share Jason's discount card. HEHEHE!
