can DIY urself.
buy 10kg rice x2 else 5kg x2....
get bamboo stick, cut the length you want....
use string tie the 2 bags of rice to the ends of the bamboo....
and there! your own dumbbell....

Penisula plaza there the sporting shop,though the price is 4bucks per kg,the material of the weight is chrome..the dumbbell handle is chrome,wont rust too...if u r scared of sweaty palms get a gym glove frm there tooo....They r having a discount right now and majority of my weights of mine is frm there too and its not even rusting =)

Tip of others who really am broke at this economy & still wanna get in shape:
why buy when u can make one? fill a bottle (ml or litres up to you, big or small, up to you) with water, or put stones in it to make it heavier, if u've got a rod (not too long), tie each bottle to the ends of the rod & start lifting, tie 2 bottles each or, 3 bottles each as many as u like, u want how heavy, it'll get how heavy u want. just add bottles. cheap & effective as u get tougher, u'd lift heavier for better results, but not stressing on your wallet. Just add more bottles.

i've got a pair of Pro-mate 5 kg dumbbells. sitting in a corner looking pretty, cos too busy/lazy to lift them anymore. plastic, won't rust. if you like, you can have them for $15, just pick them up from me at holland v, or commonwealth MRT. cheers! | |
