Can make big money having blogshop?

I am a newbie. I have never started a blogshop before in my life. this is what i intend to do.
mainly selling fashion accessories for gals. no experience at all. need help from a to z.
try give me some advice on how my blogshop should look like even if you are like me never run a blogshop before. crazy ideas are welcome. dont need to be so serious. brainstorming for starter. informative or recommended links will be appreciated.
will share with you all that i have learn at the end.

Hi, I am a blogshop owner.

You wont generate much from blogshops, especially when you are competing with other blogshops.

I dont mean to be sexist but, why not try to sell clothes for males? Im sure that you can attract some of the guys in SG, cause I find that there is a lack of apparels towards them.

But my overall advice to you is that, if you are not serious in it, dont do it, its kinda wasting time to trying to be fanciful with blogshops.

hey...i also just opened my own blogshop, but my blogshop cannot appear on google search site...whatever i tried, i still cannot find my blogshop....

.i just notice that if cannot search your blogshop on google site, it means very few traffic come in to your blogshop as people feel hard to find your shop..like that sure cannot make money...

anybody know why blogshop cannot appear on google search site??

i tot blogspot got a option to let u choose whether yr blog will appear on yahoo or google when someone search it ?

Your products have to be attractive and popular..

I think 95% of the blogshops is selling clothes and contact lenses.

Err...I am a rather new blogshop owner. I think making money on blogshop is not really impossible. But the problem is that I browse a blogshop with some statistics b4. Most blogshop shoppers are very young, most still schooling. So how can we expect to earn a lot from them? Unless, you really targeting to put some $$ to advertise lor. But like that, you can't sell too cheap else can't cover the advertising fees.

Also, the problem is many adults like some of my frds dun trust or dun really bother to try buying goods online unless you can't get it outside or it is really cheap. You can take a look at my blogshop

Coz' I think selling second hand or brand new items that I do not intend to keep is still ok. For me, I dun really earn but at least able to get back some $$ from impulse buying or some gifts I really dun use. It's kind of recycling also. A good livelhood. I sold really cheap and to my surprise got one buyer willing to extra $2 to 3 for my postage even though it is included. haha lol.

So, maybe you can start selling your unused goods like me e.g gifts or even second hand items but all must be in good condition la at a good price.

From there, you will naturally get exposure to what it is like and thus can decide if setting up blogshop is good for you. Hope that helps

Let me drop a goldmine for you guys. If you can't do SEO to get traffic for blogshop, use facebook advertising. Facebook clicks for singapore market is dirt cheap. You better enter it before the clicks gets inflated (like in the US).

It is disappointing, that up till now I have not seen any blogshop that promotes via facebook. The facebook platform can deliver more traffic than bing search engine.

Yes you can make big money. At the very beginning, it's quite depressing. This kind of blogshop thingy, you really need to spend a lot of time doing it, to keep the business ongoing. I'd suggest you to start selling some of your second hand items first to gain publicity from the people, then maybe you can start considering finding supplier to start your own blogshop. Just my 2 cents

You can try advertising at facebook and some sales community at livejournal. Pretty good.

Firstly, i suggest u to be indifferent in the sense that u dont use blogspot or wordpress. Set up your own domain and go find models to take photos for your clothes.

Of course, all these cost money. But well, if u want to earn more $$$ , you should. And find blogs to advertise for you. It is useful. Can find mine too !

I just started to open my blogshop recently. Now I'm working hard to get more traffic..

Open blogshop is quite tiring and I spent a lot of time on it...

Although it's hard, but i'm enjoying it...I'm starting to have some client base right now, so I believe, Work hard and you will see the result!!

yes, its really hard when you start, it will take you a lot of time and money. But after some times, when google pickup your niche market. you will see result and profit from your website

I would say yes. Based on my experience when I was hardworking then to make my own accessories to sell, I was receiving like 10-20 orders per day especially during CNY, Valentine Day and X'mas season. Nearly died from making the accessories. But now, no time to handle orders so we switch to selling just instock. Still doing good though not as good as previously when we were taking customized orders.

They started from blogspot, shifted to their own domain, opened a shop at Haji Lane and now another outlet at Plaza Singapura. They took around 4 years (I'm making a guess cos that was around when I started to notice them as a blogshop in blogspot). So I think, to make things work, you must be hardworking and have a lot of perseverance. Otherwise you will just be earning small money.

Want earn big money must be daring
Sells wat is unique and acceptable in the market
low cost production and sell at reasonable price
dun go for mass product items (too much competition)

First you must decide if whether you want to sell instocks or preorders.
Instocks needs capital while preorder doesnt.

For blogskin, don't too complicated.

List down your T&Cs, Meet up places and fees.
Get and enquiry board and advertisement board.

Find suppliers..

And someone mentioned about selling lenses.
Just wanna alert you, selling contact lenses online is aganist the law.
MOH is catching people alr.

Some blogshops got fined $2000-$5000.

So do take note.
