Car loans for tertiary students?

Hi I just got my license recently...been looking around and apparently car loans for college students are available in the States. Are there any such loans in Singapore? haha. seems like it's not allowed or something, can't seem to find anything..

Re: Car loans for tertiary students?

I do not think there is something like that. The reason is because of the differences in car prices.

How can you afford a car of $40000+, even with a 10 year loan, when you are still a student?

You will also get to meet alot of ugly Singaporeans on the road while driving too. Especially when you are in a hurry but they think you are trying to challenge them to a race.

Re: Car loans for tertiary students?

Getting a car for tertiary students is like a way of getting into permanent debt.

Owning a car even a hybrid is very expensive,

Although buying a car is not expensive with 10 years loan, maintaining a car is very expensive even with a job.

Petrol is rising.

You need to pay insurance, road tax,COE,seasonal parking fees,ERP.
You need to wash your car, change the tyres when they are worn out, repair the engine when it is spoilt.

If if you really want a car,you need to plan to use the car for 10 years to get the best out of your car.How many people do you know that uses his/her car for 10 years?Barely none

It is not advisable to own car in Singapore even if you have a job

lol, think everyone is advising everyone not to buy a car.
Students no need car yet lah, concentrate of your studies, then future chance of getting a car is higher with good $.

Re: Car loans for tertiary students?

Plus the age is a deterrent, most insurers will penalise young drivers with higher insurance and excess
