a couple of questions if some things are illegal or not

hi there,

I'll be visiting Singapore for 6 months next year and I have a couple of questions I couldn't find answers for through official channels. If you know the answer or have an opinion on one of them, please let me know.

1) is it allowed to use skateboards as a means of transportation? (not doing tricks, just driving my slalom board from home to work and back one kilometer)

2) I see kissing in public is sometimes frowned upon. am I prone to getting fined if I welcome my girlfriend at the airport after not seeing her for a month? (no inappropriate touching or somesuch)

3) Is the internet monitored in singapore and does the usage of encryption (e.g. ssh) need to be licensed? I don't plan on doing anything awkward but I use ssh to administer some servers back home and I'd hate it the police came breaking in my door because they see I'm using an encrypted international connection.

You see the singaporian scare tactics are working quite well on me...
And a couple of general questions:

1) Can you recommend a mobile data plan provider that is either limitable to 6 months or prepaid, and offers at least 500mb of mobile usage for little money?

2) I saw that quite a few ads are 'for single female only'. what's up with that?

Thanks for any sort of input!

1) Yes but on pavement. Do nt obstruct traffic nor hinder pedestrians. Unfortunately SG is nt really a gracious society at this point. You may get "Stomp". Jux google and you'll knwo what i mean.

2) A friendly peck is alright but anything more raises eyebrow but not to the extent of breaking the law from my knowledge.

3) Not familiar but if i understand what you mean, you're managing your server remotely from SG. Till date not a problem unless you're hacking or infringing internet law, which you can read up on.

4) Generally mobile plans are quite the same in singapore. Jux sign up for a number. and you can terminate after 3months. I think the minimum data plan starts from 5GB. Average phone and data plan bill should be around 40 with gst on average.

5) Not sure abt the ad you mentioned.
