Parents are all liddat...u can score 3As and 1C and they will only ask why u score so and so for C? They never ever look at the As and say...wow u did well

well,depends on what kind of kid are you anyw,
if you are like your friends, then its weird.
shall you be more of the not so good in studies but does better in others kind of person.
than you wouldn get the stress right?
i din get my stress until in poly.when accountancy is what i want and i strive to get better results.
in secondary school where i dont give a shit about physics,
i din even study for it during o levels.
im not gloating.i got a C6.

its not essential for life, but its essential for poly.
which eventually leads you to life.
i used to think my mum talks crap about doing well from primary school being important
but it all leads.

i think about how my other friends end up,
and im glad i was pushed.

maybe you would understand it as you go..
older i guess.
when normal academic and express actually show you that there is a difference.
when good schools and not so good ones make different students.

I guess, is okay to study at night. Almost all my friends used to study at night for Os cos it is quiet and peaceful. And they all score quite well I myself find it too.Just that, sometimes, you will feel tired at lesson.

So Do your best! Everyone will go through this stage, no matter which country in the world as long as there are EXAMs exists.

TS, I not sure what u think share with what i guess. I dun really like or understand sch textbooks too. But indeed, luv to read those 'self-help' which sumthing like self-motivation books. But not only in SG, basic education is essential along the way all over the world. In future, u r able to answer to yrself, then be it.

Maybe it's study in an area you really dislike or you just don't care about. Try to think outside the actual pages before you and put the topic into a wider perspective. Think of the sorts of careers people have using this study topic; think of how everyday problems are solved using the techniques that the study is requiring of you. This can help to enliven otherwise dull matter and can also impress a teacher if you show how this knowledge applies elsewhere in some way. It demonstrates application to the topic in spite of your reservations. And hopefully, it also helps to chase away the boredom of it.

i also faced this problem that TS is talking abt. like im more comfortable studying in JE library compared to home (whr i got TV and laptop and all kinds of distractions) then they will nag. at home cnt study must waste money go out study and all sorts.

ya most kids will more or less have to face with this problem. for me im also a slacker from pri sch right up to my poly yr 2. then i faced projects problem which make me realise i have to really buck up for studies not play play play :x its your own future that you are studying for

mayb its these particular subject you dont like so try thinking in another perspective that will make u love the subject haha. it will make a huge difference.

geenrally i tink u still v slack coz main reason is u dont have a fixed target to achieve. eg. ppl say i wan to get into uni xx course. u aim for it study hard for it. get the satisfaction at last for achieving ur target. try finding ur own target that you want to aim for. eg. wads ur interest? like mines accountancy. i aimed for being in np accountancy aft o lvls and achieved it. but aft getting in i cant find my nxt target so did badly hehe

and at home i play computer. lols ....
Home is not a best study environment for me.
they NEVER see me studying, so no matter how i convince them they dun believe.

Maybe ur parents dun approve of u habits cos u dun do well in the first place? Since u mentioned that u dun generally do well.... If u wanna feel stressed then tink about what will happen to u if u screw up ur O lvls ( Since that where i assume ur at i.e sec sch lvl), since it realli affects the route u will take for the next 5 yrs or so.

although i have no right to comment on u, i am still going to say it...
YOU DO NOT DESERVE TO BE RECOGNIZED!!! u claim tat u study at night, yes, but how long do u study and did u realli study hard enuff to understand the questions, if so, WHERE ARE THE RESULTS!!!

EFFORTS ARE ONLY RECOGNISED IF U CAN PRODUCE THE RESULTS... ... i do not see any effort in u...

to be honest wif u... i am in a worst situation compared to u... if u were to see my results slip in sec sch... i fail ALL subj except maths throughout the year... even during my o level, i am still playing my comp when all my frens are bz studying... like u, i feel no stress at all...i scored 20 for my L1R4 (surprised wif my own result as i was expecting worst. although 20 isn't good but at least it allows mi to get into a course in poly)...

now in poly however, although i dun study for small quizzes, i force myself to study for my mid year and final year exams... i do so by going to the sch library from 9am-8pm everyday (usually 1-2weeks b4 the start of the paper).... and after reaching home ard 8.30pm, i would just continue to use my computer (nid to rest and i nid to use the comp everyday or else i will die of boredom)...

now i am in my year 3 in poly.. gpa = 3.75. in aerospace engineering..although my parents used to constantly scold mi for using the comp and not studying, as long as i manage to produce good result for them, they would nvr complain...

wad i am telling u here is that... if u wan them to recognized the way u study, prove it to them by realli studying hard when the time comes.. when its time to play, play hard.. but when it is time to study, study hard too... playing during the exam period is ok, but do not overdo it.. exam period = more study = less play time... non exam period = more play time = less/no study...
here is a piece of advice for u too, get your frens to study wif u if u cannot study alone.. and try to study outside, do not study at home or at your frens house, as u will tend to get distracted by the computer easily...
