Dutch writer sues S'pore duo
She claims they broke pledge to help her sell book and double assets

AN AUTHOR from the Netherlands is suing a Singaporean couple who she claims broke their promise to help her market her latest book on yoga philosophy.

She has also complained in documents filed to the High Court that they lied about engaging veteran Bollywood star Suresh Oberoi to endorse her book.

The writer, Ms Elizabeth Maria Everarda Van Der Laan, 64, is claiming the return of a sum of more than $525,000 from the couple, Mr Thomas Iskandar Shah, 55, and his wife AJ Hameedah, 42, as well as the consultancy firm they run, Billionaires Management Worldwide.

She has also filed police reports against the couple, who are well-known in entrepreneurial circles here.

Ms Van Der Laan, who is based in Asia and is a Hong Kong permanent resident, said she met Mr Iskandar in October 2007 at a coaching programme organised by XL Results Foundation, a global network for entrepreneurs.
