Have You Ever Thanked Your Parents?

Have you ever thought or actually thanks your parents before for anything? I have. It took me years to figure out I should thank them for the things they gave me and the life they gave me. And I am so thankful that I did it before mom passes away. Not that she will soon but because we were scared for a time when she had multiple strokes at a very abrupt pace and succession.

You, have you ever thanked your parents for anything? IF not, what is keeping you?

Thanking them by actions and gestures, yes quite frequent. But through words, perhaps never at all

why by words never at all?what's keeping you from expressing your gratitude towards their kindness and efforts?

Re: Have You Ever Thanked Your Parents?

I have thanked my father many times for the advantages he provided for me in life, as well as just being a great father. My mother is a whole different story.

Yes, I always thank my parents. I think them with actions and gestures. All the way to what I say and outright telling them "thank you". Trust me just telling them thank you every now and then would mean a lot to them.

Just have to learn to stop thinking about yourself and take their feelings into consideration.

I dont ,mainly because I have bad relationships and even if I tell them ,it would be somehow awkward .If I had thanked them for the past few years when I was younger ,things would not have been difficult for me.To me,is just difficult.

Yes I have thanked my parents for being there, for guiding me through the years, for assisting me financially, for praying and encouraging me in every aspect of my life. Nothing can stop me from saying thanks to my parents, they have made the trend and set the pace for me to follow and pass on to my children and grand children. Saying thanks is one of the most precious words you can say to your parents, even if there is not a gift the word thanks says it all. It shows your appreciation for them and how much you care and love them. My way of showing my gratitude to them for this year is presenting them with a plaque saying thanks for being who you are and am so glad that they are my parents. The best parents ever.

Re: Have You Ever Thanked Your Parents?

Yes, I did. Parents are another form of God. They help us in every situation. So on their 25th anniversary, I said thanks to them. Not for a particular thing, but for everything. They have done so much for me. So I made this anniversary the most special anniversary for them.

Re: Have You Ever Thanked Your Parents?

I have thanked my mom, because she is the one who has actually done the most for me and has always been there for me when I really needed her. She's not perfect (I caught her talking bad about me behind my back), but she has apologized. She has really tried to help me, so no matter what she said, I just can't let those words delete the nice things she has and is still doing for me. I love my mom, and dad.

But my dad has always been so irresponsible. I still have to thank him for giving me life tho I plan to repay all the favours my mom has done to me! If possible, in the future

Re: Have You Ever Thanked Your Parents?

There are people that have "crappy" parents. Instead of thanking them then they should thank those that helped them in their life. Don't be ashamed to thank people because you never know when your time will come.

Re: Have You Ever Thanked Your Parents?

Well, I did thank them casually when they give me something or do something for me, but I don't think that I have sat down with them for a heart to heart talk to tell them that I appreciate what they did for me. Well with the way things are going now with my family, I'd rather not bother, to be honest.

Re: Have You Ever Thanked Your Parents?

I know i should do it more often, but i find it veryy weird to say thanks to my parents. I've been brought up in a conservative family, we don't really share our feelings and thoughts and many times we take some things, actions that our family members do for granted. It's so true that only our family members see our truest colors, for me it's so much easier to say sorry and thank you to others than to my own family!
