TS,
20 ~ 40% return in stock market in 2 months arent going to be easy, especially when u have limited exp and knowledge to it.
maybe start off with a more realistic goal?
if die die u want me to give u a suggesstion, go look at derivatives. (options, warrants)
insurance agent tend to only focus on policies as its the most lucrative for them.
the max they can recommend maybe is only on collective investment schemes (unit trusts).
the investment returns of products that can be recommended by agents are often to the low side.
for higher investment yields, its normally done on your own..

u mentioned u r a medium risk investor....
meanin u cant take much risk too....
cos i noe most pple like the returns of higher risk instruments but cant really stomach the losses(or risk) when the wave rush in....
mayb b4 u look at diff investment products, u can look at wat u like to haf....
ur own investor profile n stuff like tat....
do a proper analysis n know urself better on wat u want n how much risk u can take n wat s ur expected returns over a certain period of time....
personally, for a medium risk person wz a mid - long term time horizon, UTs will b good enough....

If you want the highest returns in the shortest time, be prepared to incur the highest losses in the shortest time as well.

the interest rate for NZ$ is not bad lar... but u have to consider the exchange rate when u convert from S$ to NZ$, then put it there to earn interest.. how about when u want S$ again? convert back... the exchange will errode all your interest earned. furthermore still have to subject to currency fluctuation..
not an advisable option unless u are holding NZ$
just my view..

dun mind me sharin...
constant of switchin of funds r not tat good....
anyway no one can really time the mkt correctly....
insurance agents can only give insurance advice...
not investment advice....
u can consider constructin a inv portfolio n do portfolio magment instead...
wz ur own profile, u can work out ur own risk/returns spread n mix...
wz appropriate inv strategies, u can haf ur desired returns over a desired time horizon...
regardless how the mkt moves....
tis s something an insurance agent r not capable to do 4 u.... |

as u gain more responsibilities u have to shift towards a fund tat is more of capital preservation compared to one that has higher risk and capital gain.
its really personalised. one might say....
im highly conservative in investments but he throws in 90% of his income to investment.
he's investments consist of mainly fix d and government bonds. so its pretty much secured but other ppl might think he's mad throwin in 90% of his income into investments. so yea. risk appetite is rather important so do share more with ur agent so he can point out to u the few funds that u might wanna choose from according to ur risk appetite.
this is just an example. if can throw 90% income in... wa steady. eat grass liao

if u want medical advice, u go to a doctor....
if u want legal advice, u go to a lawyer....
if u want insurance advice, u go to an insurance adviser...
if u want investment advice, u go to an investment adviser....

Bro NV, investments ... are typically long term ...
short term are call speculations ...
There are no such thing as 6 months investment ....
If you want the safest instrument, then go for Fixed Deposit.
(Not structured deposit, there is a difference betwn the 2)
Commodities,Options. Futures speculation will have highest yield of coz be prepare to lose your capital overnight.
For me, i believe in a portfolio of investment. And remember the #1 rule of investment by Warren Buffet,
"Never dapple in things you do not understand"
