Violette, mrleech, SHOW, teri and myself met up earlier at Bugis MRT as Violette and myself had to leave earlier. SHOW and mrleech agreed to join us to 'chup' tables at the kopitiam where we were going to have Bak Kut Teh for lunch. Teri was early becos Violette was taking her to a shop in Bugis for a belated birthday prezzie.

When we reached the kopitiam it wasn't crowded so the four of us easily found four tables to 'chup'. After a while, some of the guys turned up to occupy the 'chupped' tables. I proceeded to order the Bak Kut Teh for violette, mrleech and myself. Calis joined our table subsequently.

I ordered the Bak Kut Teh, one dish of kiam chye, one dish of bean curd skin with chicken feet and one bowl of kidney/liver soup. The Bak Kut Teh was good as the meat was tender. However, it came in big chunks so quite difficult to eat with the chopsticks de. The rest of the side dishes were just as yummy.

If I am not wrong, NOT everyone in the confirmed list turned up. Phoenixity has the attendance list so she will post who were the ones who 'Fly aeroplane'....

There were new members who joined the lunch and I got to meet Dave, Mike, Terry, Clover, Syuusuke, Suzanne (name not in the list) and one guy whose name I forgot. Sorry hor...

The rest were members I've met before and it is so cool that members who have met once or twice to date were able to feel comfortable with each other.

Violette and me left at around 1.40 pm.

The rest of them, or the majority of them had a Dota outing led by Dota Princess, cutepetz. That will be talked about in another thread.

So, for those of you who were at the Makan Outing, please give your two cents' worth of comments.

The food was quite good. Too bad we cant all start at the same time. Had to spread out as the tables quite small. But it was a nice outing. Thanks to phoenixity for organising the outing.

Eh somehow i dun like the Bak Ku Teh leh. My meat was rubbery and i tink the food expensive for the amount of quantity.
Well got to noe more ppl but nv really communicate much with the new ppl. Was more of like tokin to the older members only since we arrive much earlier.
Well i guess there's plenty of chance.

I think the Bak Kut Teh was great too. Thank you phoenixity for organising this makan outing event. It was much appreciated. I really enjoyed it.

Total: 27 people.

(do tell me if i missed you out.. i really blur now. cant think lol)

For me, it's my first time holding an outing and boy was it difficult. Not to mention that after the makan outing was the dota outing. I was quite disappointed because people came in batches so like the 1st batch eat finish liao when the 3rd batch arrived, etc.. Not as good cos we cant eat together BUT! nvm!

cos overall, the people and everything still made it all good ^^ Too bad some people couldnt make it due to their own reasons. Hmm i think it's not that good to post their names eh? Maybe they didnt mean it. =/

Ok the food. Well this is the first time i ate bak kut teh. Yeah im serious. I've never eaten that b4. The meat was so difficult to peal off from the bone lah, is it supposed to be like that?? hahaha. Anyway, i think it was not bad lah.

teriyaki asked me to help her post her comment too: i think the you tiao was nicer than the bak kut teh.

Feedback time!!!

I met up with mamaros, teriyaki, mrleech and show at 12pm at Bugis MRT Control Station. Our main purpose is to reach there earlier to chope chope seats for all the members who are attending the makan outing. *

After getting teriyaki her pressie, we proceeded to the kopitiam and teriyaki had went off to meet the rest at the control station. We easily found 4 tables and each of us sat at 1 table. When some of the members turned up, we gradually shifted ourselves to sit together

and ordered out bak kut teh first. *psps, i have got class at 2.30pm so i have to makan first

wah sei, the bak kut machiam super size de..

u ordered too much liaoz lah... got veggies, youtiao, chicken feet and kidney soup.. heng ah, got mrleech and calis to finish sia..

i would rate the bak kut teh 8/10.. though we ate in diff batches but it is hard to eat tgt at the same time cos the stall is in the kopitiam.. anyway, just hope tat everyone had a great time..

we took the grp pic after makan but some of the members are not in it.. and psps, me and ros gotta leave early - eat and zhao liaoz... running outta time.. so din have much time to talk to new members.. but dun worry, we sure have more chances in the future..

lastly, super thanks to phoenixity and teriyaki

for organising this makan outing..

and all members who had turned up..

piak piak those who send us fly kite, fly aeroplane..

especially those who never inform the organiser and co-organiser..

Michelle thanxs for organise the outing and teri for the co-organiser both of u did a good job. Well the bak kut teh was quite nice and to me the potion is quite big as I can't finish the rice and youtiao. In the end the youtiao we gave it to xiaoekin to finish it

Bty I din join them for dota outing cos I dun play and also got appt so got to leave early too. Lastly thanxs mamaros for intro all the members to me as I dun really know every one of them. It's great to know them as they are so friendly and nice.
