What do you find most challenging about worship leading?

So what is the greatest challenge for you when worship leading? For me, it wld probably be trying to be sensitive to God's move after having rehearsed the entire flow of the service. It is so easy to just move along with what was practiced and forget to listen to God in the midst of the service.

picking the songs..it's easy to repeat songs you like.. I've ever got ppl telling me that they noticed that i almost always pick tat particular praise song ("I love to be in your presence") when you lead worship? Actually, I didn't even mean to pick that song, it just sounds good in the whole thing to liven up the worship.

i guess the most difficult part, is stopping... lol.. especially when the anointing is flowing and not just you, but everyone just wanna carry on till the Lord comes again..

think i know what you mean. i think one of the greater challenges of a worship leader is being able to suppress your personal preference (not entirely but to a certain extent) and consider the congregation and their preferences as well. That also means singing songs you may not like entirely but feel that it is an appropriate song for the day.

definitely, over-extending alloted time is one of the mistakes many of us make. it is a tough decision to make abt whether it is God's desire to continue or to stick to the given time frame. that's why sensitivity to the Spirit is so important. Also, I shld point out that many of us are prone to think that the flow is from God esp when we are enjoying the songs and not realize that we are actually leading with our own efforts. We got to be careful abt that....
