Fruits and veggies in your hair

I always laugh when I see people putting fruits and vegetables in their hair. I know it's supposed to be natural and healthy, and that these extracts go into beauty products. Still, it looks like one of those Cuban fruit-topped headpieces gone wild in my imagination.

Re: Fruits and veggies in your hair

I occasionally treat my hair with a mixture of honey and olive oil. A friend adds egg yolk into the honey and olive oil. These ingredients helps add shine to the hair and seal in the moisture.

I tried using avocado in my hair once and really liked it. I also tried mayonnaise, and it was so oily I couldn't go out in public for a week.

Re: Fruits and veggies in your hair

I think vegetables and fruits will help more if they are eaten rather than putting on head as head hairs are dead protein fibers while hair follicles are quite deep in skin to absorb vitamins and minerals of them. Vitamins, minerals, oxygen, hormones and nutrients are reached via blood arteries to hair follicles..

Re: Fruits and veggies in your hair

I would love to try avocado in my hair sometime! Typically, I alternate every week between a protein egg yolk conditioner and a moisturizing conditioner. The protein conditioner seems to keep my hair strong and resistant against breakage.

Re: Fruits and veggies in your hair

For making a super intense hair treatment for head hair breakage or loss:
If your head hairs are falling and thinning then mix one tablespoon of honey, one egg yolk and a half teaspoon of almond oil plus one tablespoon yogurt. Make a sudsy paste ot these ingredients and apply it to your head hair and keep it for one and half hour. After rinsing your head hair will moisturized completely and become quite smooth.

Hence you can repair your head hair to make it more strong, healthy as well as beautiful.

Re: Fruits and veggies in your hair

Applying fruits and veggies to your hair is a good idea I think, but eating these fruits and veggies might be better not just for the hair but for the entire body. Anyway, I have tried massaging olive oil into my hair and scalp. It was supposed to make my hair softer and shinier.
