Goal Singapore readers predict Germany v Netherlands final

Goal Singapore readers predict Germany v Netherlands final
By Afifah Ariffin | GOAL.com

It will be an exciting showdown as the last four battle it out for a place in the glorious finals in the Fifa World Cup, and Goal Singapore readers predict that Germany and Netherlands will make it through.

43.6% of readers believe that the European powerhouses will win their South American counterparts in the semi-finals, while a lesser 27.4% think that Argentina will edge out the Dutch to meet the Germans. A much smaller percentage are rooting for Brazil to make it through, aware of the hosts' tough time ahead without some of their key players.

Brazil suffered a huge blow to their World Cup campaign when star striker Neymar was stretchered off the pitch in the quarter-finals, following a collision with Colombia’s Juan Zuniga. The Barcelona striker has fractured his vertebrae, and is ruled out of the tournament, much to Brazil’s dismay. The Seleccao will also be without their captain Thiago Silva tonight, as they take on a strong German side ready to fight for their fourth World Cup trophy.

Argentina has been consistent in their campaign, but their over-reliance on star striker Lionel Messi could be a problem for them as they face Netherlands tomorrow. Louis Van Gaal has been absolutely spot on with his tactics throughout the World Cup, and will definitely have something up his sleeves as his side takes on La Albiceleste.

The semi-finals will also feature a potent attacking quartet, who are hungry to overtake James Rodriguez in the race for the Golden Boot award. Brazilian ace Neymar is second with four goals, but is already out of the tournament due to injury, leaving Dutch duo Arjen Robben and Robin van Persie to duke it out with Argentina captain Lionel Messi and Germany's Thomas Muller.

Hahahahha.. Find a better excuses.. What next, Voodoo.

The Brazil are simply pathetic in this WC. Brazil was lucky even in the group stage to advance to the knock out stages. And was lucky against the Colombian. Had they (Brazil) not being a host which qualified automatically, the Brazil won't even be in the WC.

Lets just say they self destruct after conceding the 1st 2-3 goals

Brazil will be at every world cup regardless, even a non soccer fan would know that unless he/she have being living under a rock for the past 50 years.

They have won the most world cups among all the countries if u dun know and its one of the top teams on the FIFA rankings. Thus such a horrendous scoreline is certainly suspicious.

Yes you are right that Brasil had been participate in every World Cup. Had this year they not being a host and had to go through the qualifying round to participate, this pathetic current team of Brasil would not have made it.

So what if they have won the most World Cup. It's not the current team that winning it. The previous great had won it and that already history and history is best remembered. Not making a good team.

Don't be blinded by the scoreline. They are lucky to win most of their matches since the first match.

Even if they have to qualify I m pretty sure they would have done that at least otherwise they wouldnt have made it into the semi-final. U cant base on just one poor result to say that they are horrible, all their past matches were decent enough.

No, I don't judge on a single match. Their first match against Croatia, theare are lucky to win with a little help from the Japanese referee. The Cameroon matches whereby Brasil netted 4, is expected as the Cameroon are "not interested" to play with all the controversies surrounding their team. Others against Mexico (0-0), Chile (1-1) and Colombia (2-1) wasn't impressive either.
