H1 GEOG or ECONS

o level results:

EL A1
CL A1
HCL B3
EMath A1
Combined H. (SS/Geog) A1
Amath B3
Chem B3
Bio B3

Hi I am currently taking h1 geog in JC but im starting to wonder if econs would be a better choice for me as i am taking H2: Bio Chem Math. With Bio as a content heavy subject.

Personally, so far h1 geog seems so foreign to me, like i dont really know how to do the tutorials and at times i dont understand the notes given. And i know that geog would be a very content heavy subject and i'm afraid i wouldnt be able to cope as i have h2 bio too.
I am reading through the Econs lecture slides uploaded by teachers and they seem to be less content heavy and something that i can relate to in real life.

Any experiences in taking h1 Econs?

What are your suggestions? I really need help! :/

Re: H1 GEOG or ECONS

I took both h2 geo and econs and scored B for geo and A for econs.. Well, both subjects are actually content heavy. But it seems less content heavy for econs as every topic are very interlinked with one another and it's concepts are really impt in order to score.. And also cos u'll be practicing essays and case study v often so the content are easier to get into e brain.. So not much of memorizing since stuffs get into it brain as time goes by... As for geo, it's really heavy in contents, a lot more memorizing than econs! It's concepts are v impt too! But I heard from my friends that It's not v worth it to study h1 econs as the amount of contents are similar to h2 econs.. But not so sure for h1 geo.. Hope it helps

Re: H1 GEOG or ECONS

Hey ! Im also taking the same combi as you. Yeah, many seniors were like '' Omg, you take H2 BIO AND H1 GEOG?! Good luck''

But I so far havent regretted taking geog cus i really like it (altho it's foreign to me as well) Econs may sound interesting too but i guess it has loads of content to absorb as well .

I went for sample lectures for econs and i heard for H1 , the case study part is foreign , you have to apply whatever you learn into a totally new situation. And it's (i think) 60% of the paper . So i dont think it's easy to score..
(Correct me if you're an econs student and think that im wrong abt this. )

Your sch still allow you guys to change your sub combi?

I dont think so but you can try i guess heh.
Yea i get those too, the bio and geog good luck stuff.
It's very reassuring for me to know that someone with the same combi as me isnt regretting. THANKS
I guess i'll just try my best for geog, (although the tutorials are like super tough for me). Well JC life isnt meant to be easy right? THANKS AGN.
