Hair Loss - Vitamin D

One interesting vitamin that get produced in the skin from direct exposure to the sun figures as another nutrient that helps prevent hair loss. Vitamin D aids in the regulation of calcium metabolism for stronger bones. It is an essential nutrient for growing kids whose calcium requirements for healthy bones can be significant in their growing years.

Most of our vitamin D requirement is produced by the skin when exposed to the sun. Some foods do contain the vitamin like cod liver oil, salmon, cereals and dairy products.

1. Vitamin D in baldness


No scientific studies have yet to show any direct relationship between hair growth and vitamin D. But observations suggest that a deficiency in it results in rickets which can lead to baldness. In addition, lab studies with mice deprived of vitamin D result in complete body hair loss.

Some experts believe that a deficiency in the vitamin when coupled with deficiencies in the fatty acids that convert cholesterol into useful "good" cholesterol, baldness can occur. While lack of vitamin D has not be proven to result in hair loss, having the right levels can help maintain normal hair growth which is what is needed to neutralize excessive hair loss.

2. Vitamin D Risks


Vitamin D is another fat-soluble vitamin that is not easily excreted by the body when there's too much of it. It is fat-soluble and gets stored together with excess fat and is known to exhibit toxicity levels that can harm the health of adults. Weight loss can result and even hair loss. Vitamin D over production can get phosphate and excess calcium deposited in some organs like the kidneys and other soft tissues that can result in calcinosis.

It is rare that a person gets to overdose on vitamin D unless he eats a lot of cod liver oil. Even over exposure to the sun doesn't result in vitamin overproduction in the skin since the skin's melanin content regulates vitamin D production.

Omega 3 is a factor that affects the biological process of the 'D' vitamin. The modern lifestyle of today usually involves doing mostly indoor activities and so you don't get enough sunlight which is an excellent source of vitamin D. Deficiency of essential fatty acids, may contribute to hair loss.The right amount of Vitamin D is beneficial to hair growth.

Hello,
Yes you are right vitamin d is very necessary for hair care.Indoor activities keep an individual away from sunlight, the main source of this vitamin whereas other factors like improper diet and eating junk foods results in deficiency of Vitamin D, which eventually causes hair loss.

Lack of fatty acids in the diet is another cause of Vitamin D deficiency that causes hair loss. This is because fatty acids play a major role in producing cholesterol and removing the excess.



These fatty acids are also required for fundamental body functions. If adequate amount of fatty acids are not consumed, it hampers the production of cholesterol, which is required by the body for synthesis of Vitamin D.

I'm drinking loads of Green Tea as well to prevent my hair loss from reoccuring cause I read that it's great for hair growth as for supplements- Biotin helps... Avoid MSG when you cook at home & especially when you eat out cause they do contribute to hair loss. Tell tale signs that the food you ate has lots of MSG- you'll feel really thirsty after your meal- Based on what I've read.

Yup, I read that green tea is good to prevent hair loss, the hot natural green tea with the herbs still in the tea bag, not the cold processed ones.

For those MSG lovers, can substitute MSG with fenugreek, which helps with hair loss & adds flavour to your food.

From my herbal quest to combat hair loss......

I have done a lot of research on hair loss and natural supplements and have found that adding Biotin and Vitamin B5 to your diet makes a big difference in developing healthy hair. I hope this is helpful.

The Vitamin D deficiency that causes hair loss. This is because fatty acids play a major role in producing cholesterol and removing the excess. In all these there are several things can be possible to know about it.

im having hair lost problem
i dieting i lost 38 kg within 5month
never eat any slimming product just eat less and exercise.
is it i sort of vitamin and nutrition so lead to hair loss problem?
i did went to bei jing 101, i don't know it is effective a not.
and i go pharmacy center buy zinc vitamin and tonic to use. quite effective
anyone can tell me what should i do? which vitamin tablet should i take besides zinc?
