Used to have a really really bad case of dandruff and it'd cause me to itch too, I switched to head and shoulders on my friends reccomendation, and took to scrubbing extremely throughly, problem disappeared in a few weeks =x
A note though, mom says her stylist told her Head and Shoulders isnt good cos if you switch brands, a chemical in H+S will cause your scalp to itch a lot, never had this problem before though, then again, never swapped from H+S, still using it...

Oic, I'll just put the cures for all of the above down then =x so you can pick from the list which one applies to you.
Seborrhoeic Dermatitis
( Taken from Wikipedia )
Soaps and detergents such as Sodium Laureth Sulfate may precipitate a flare-up, as they strip moisture from the top layers of the skin, and the drying property of these can cause flare-ups and may worsen the condition.[citation needed] Accordingly a suitable alternative should be used instead.
Among dermatologist recommended treatments are shampoos containing coal tar, ketoconazole, selenium sulfide, or zinc pyrithione.[6] For severe disease, keratolytics such as salicylic acid or coal tar preparations may be used to remove dense scale. Topical terbinafine solution (1%) has also been shown to be effective in the treatment of scalp seborrhea,[7] as may lotions containing alpha hydroxy acids or corticosteroids.
Chronic treatment with topical corticosteroids may lead to permanent skin changes, such as atrophy and telangiectasia.[8][9]
UV-A and UV-B light inhibit the growth of M. furfur[10], although caution should be taken to avoid sun damage.
Clicked around on the links and found out that two of the above ingredients, Selenium sulfide and Zinc pyrithione, are in Head and Shoulders, so you might want to try that if the above is your problem =x ( Geez I sound like a H+S Salesman here >_> )
Topical antifungal medications - containing either 2.5% selenium sulfide (Selsun® shampoo in UK, but not Selsun Blue which contains only 1%) or 2% ketoconazole (Nizoral® ointment and shampoo) applied to dry skin and washed off after 10 minutes, repeated daily for 2 weeks. Other topical antifungal agents such as clotrimazole, miconazole or terbinafine are less widely recommended. Additionally, hydrogen peroxide has been known to lessen symptoms, and on certain occasions, remove the problem.[citation needed]
Oral antifungal prescription only medications include 400 mg of ketoconazole or fluconazole in a single dose, or ketoconazole 200 mg daily for 7 days, or itraconazole 400 mg daily for 3-7 days. The single-dose regimens can be made more effective by having the patient exercise 1-2 hours after the dose, to induce sweating. The sweat is allowed to evaporate, and showering is delayed for a day, leaving a film of the medication on the skin.[citation needed]
Recurrence is common and may be reduced by intermittent application of topical agents (such as tea tree oil) or adding a small amount of anti-dandruff shampoo to water used for bathing.
