Is having 475.5 CIP hours useful? - Page 2

Not much activities to do in SG.. It's like all schools are snatching the CIP venues.. Such as Elders' Care Centre, everyday got different schools visit them..

Maybe the schools are not giving enough cos they want the students to go our by themselves and take the initiative to contribute to the society? That way, it won't seem like they are "forced" to do such things.

So far I only have about 60hrs.

I wanna aim for and A to get my 5 service points. ^^

I got 200hours from being a prefect for 4 years.
Then got chances to serve the community like go primary school give leadership training.
Teacher also very willing to give CIP hours.

i think not important. i'd got more than 200 hours nobody ever asked abt it. unless you also have straight As and leadership apptmts and do volunteer work. then all will add up. this is singapore mah.

every 100hr = 1 point if not wrong .. but only can reduced 2 point max in ur grade only..

I think it does help although 100 hours is the maximum. For example if your results for Os are borderline and you want to appeal into a particular JC or whatever, your CCA/CIP record would probably help you.

Yeah, but not much. I think academics is still the utmost important.

if u serving in ECs u can easilly clock few thousands of hours of CIP.... i remb my time sch receive the appreciation cert frm PA got a shock on hw much CIP hrs i have... hahhaahah...

HELLO PPL I'M DESPERATE FINDING CIP ACTIVITIES OTHER THAN THE LIBRARY. I NEED IT A LOT A LOT A LOT AND I WOULD APPRECIATE IT IF ANYONE HAS GOOD RECOMMENDATIONS.
u see, my sch doesnt org anything at all and my cca doesnt help and i want a cip activity that is unique and super meaningful and not too difficult for a secondary 1 normal student. pls help and thanks =D

Always do the bare minimum for the CIP requirements each year, dont waste your time. I usually end up spending a couple of hours at the end of each year cleaning up some classrooms to make up for the hours i have not done.

returning time back to the society huh. &omg, what did you do throughout those 475.5 hours of your life?

for me, i barely did the minimum just to meet the requirements. lol
