Gender: | Re: Having stead is a offence in secondary school? Hmm...your friend would have to read up his school rules.
However, I'm positive the school has no control over the students personal life and relationships.
Unless, of course, your friend was in school uniform when the picture was taken , which might "leave a bad impression to the school."
Still, getting caned for holding hands...This is the first case I've heard of. |

Else I don't think sch can interfere with your personal life, unless you are doing crimes la.
but back to the topic, having a gf during sec sch days is so common... like.. "the source of motivation" i dont see anything bad about it. |

Gender: | Re: Having stead is a offence in secondary school? well.. maybe some school's rules are meant to be that way
you will never know.. but for the punishment, i think its abit way too harsh on them
being kaned for due to caught holding hands.. thats ridiculous
then if seen hugging or kissing?.. life time imprisonment??

cos most probably BGR happened in sec sch,the students will most probably bring to counselling and the school will inform the parents. |

Gender: | Re: Having stead is a offence in secondary school? if he is in his school uniform, than it is his fault.
but still, caning is too harsh a punishment.
maybe just warning or call him to break or inform his parents would be better. |

Gender: | Re: Having stead is a offence in secondary school? if hes in schl uniform..then he will be subjected to his schools regulations..no pt complaining..he was at fault 1st..even if the dm want to cover 1 eye also cant..cus the photo is concrete proof..if it spreads around and the school dont do anything, wont the reputation of the school drop? |

Gender: | Re: Having stead is a offence in secondary school? Most schools have a rule whereby if in school uniform then got fault lah.
But sometimes some schools don't even approve of such a thing.Like my ex sec-school.
They found one and expel straight away.Haiyo. =X |

Gender: | Re: Having stead is a offence in secondary school? I think that different schools have different treatments. Let say the school is very good in their reputation and somehow there is a picture with him touching his gf (in uniform), they have to do something.
To me, caning is really too harsh. And to expel the student for having a stead is unreasonable. The school should think of how they should help the student, not about the school's reputation. Expelled students will result in deliquence in their action and a burden to the society. Sometimes, the student's future is at the school's decision.
I don't think caning is necessary to punish the boy. He merely touched her hand, not other private parts of the girl's body, and also not having sex with her. He also didn't kissed her, based on the photo. Informing the parents of both students would be the best solution. Let the parents teach them, before the school takes action. Cos I feel that it is suppose to be the parents who would teach their children about sexual education.
Caning should be done if the student is caught smoking, fighting, taking drugs. But I am a student, I'm not sure what the Caning Handbook has for us.
The school also should consider one factor which is whether the photo was sent out by students or not. Let's say either the guy or the girl have an enemy and this person wants to sabotage both of them, or this person just wants to do this for fun. Using force on riduculous incidents like this is really not a good solution, without identifying the proof and what's the motive. School's authorities are adults, and they think better than students like us, youngsters. If they don't think wiser than us, I bet no one would.
In some of my thread, I named out that whatever the school teach/reacts/show, affects the future and the growth of the student. Cos, youngsters like us are like this chinese proverb - YOU YANG XUE YANG. (means LEARN WHAT THEY SEE) |
