HELP: Time Management?

I need help on my time management =(

I realised during Prelims that although i have the information and the skill to write well, I can't seem to write fast enough. So I always end up with a great part A essay but a bad part B because I really had to rush through, handwriting and all.

So, any tips? I know the basic thing is the write faster, but everyone has their own limits...

Re: HELP: Time Management?

which subject is it that you need time management in?
try to summarise your points and not beat around the bush then perhaps you will take lesser time to write and have more time to finish?

Re: HELP: Time Management?

Yea 22 minutes for an essay, then jump to another essay.
If you wrote about 2 factors (6th para), that wld give about 7-9m.

Re: HELP: Time Management?

Well, let me just share how I do my SS/history paper, it's how I do it, and I don't have difficulty in time at all, in fact, I always have 10-15 mins extra time to check, yet securing distinction all the time!
First, I make sure that I do my SBQ in 40 mins. That, might be quite difficult, especially on cases whereby the sources are tricky, or cartoon is hard to decipher. Thats why I suggest you do lots of practise on SBQ, so that regardless of the level of difficulty for SBQ, you can do it within 40 mins.
In order to do fast for SBQ, everytime you get the paper, briefly read through all the sources, so that you have a idea in mind. Then, for every question, remind yourself what type of question it is, and what are they asking, be it inference, cross reference or differences/similiarties. Then, use less than 10 mins for each sbq question. With a organized mind, it is possible! If it is already 40 mins and you have one last SBQ question, my advice would be to skip that and move on to essay.
For the essay, I would spend 25 mins on each part. Cos essay, you should know the informations at the back of ur head already, so usually part A, you will have to explain both sides and part B, its to explain other factors. 25 mins for each essay is definitely enough. Also, essays you don't have to spend time to write a few lines of introduction, those will not get you marks. Get to the point, be precise and just smack down the main factors and explain relevantly and not beat around the bush! Do not care about the length, I always write about 1 page, or slightly more than a page, yet can score 12/13 or 11/12.
Do lots of practise at home, and time yourself. It is possible
