History students PLEASE!!

Which was the most important development for the rise of the military in the early 1930s? Explain you answer.

Weak democratic government was the main reason for the rise of military in the early 1930s. However, they were other reasons such as effects of the Great Depression and Overseas expansion of the military in the 1930s.

Weak democratic government was the main reason for the rise of the military. Japan’s democratic government was seen as weak, corrupt and inefficient. The parliament or Diet had limited power while most power rested in the hands of the Emperor and the genro, a group of retired Japanese statesmen who served as informal advisers to the Emperor. Hence, the Diet did not have the power to make decisions and make its own policies. Furthermore, it could not control the ministers who were directly under the control of the Emperor. The nation budget was also not under control of the Diet and the bulk of the budget was actually channeled to the Army. As a result, the diet could not implement effective policies to solve the problems of the state. Hence, in the eyes of the people, the government was perceived to be weak and ineffective. Corruption also caused the people to lose confidence in the democratic government. Democratic leaders in Japan had to be elected to the Diet. Many parties were formed to participate in election campaigns and they obtained the necessary funding from the Zaibatsus. Hence, many Zaibatsus could make use of the ties with their sponsored political parties to make the government implement laws and policies that were beneficial to them. As a result of corruption and the ineffective policies passed by the democratic government, the people lost faith and trust in the democratic government. They began to support the military government which led to the rise of the military.

Can history students please help me shorten this factor,it seemed too long for me!

Re: History students PLEASE!!

The problem here is that you've thrown in too many examples! You have three examples on why the democratic government was weak.Choose one,and throw the other two.You simply have no time to write this length! here, this is what I'd write:

Weak democratic government was a reason for the rise of the military. This was because the democratic government was corrupted. As the leaders in the government had to be elected, many of them turned to the zaibatsus to fund their elaborate campaigns to garner support from the people, and to be successfully elected. In turn, when they have been elected into the government sector, they would try to fight for policies that would benefit the zaibatsus. This resulted in many arguments during meetings,as they started to accuse each other of being corrupted, instead of using the time to solve the economic problems of the people and improve the living conditions of the people.Hence, the people began to lose faith in the democratic government, who seemed too be too busy fighting among themselves, and did not care for the well-bring of the people. As such, they felt that the democratic government was not working out for them and they began to look for alternate solutions, such as the military, who promised to give them what they wanted, leading to the rise of the military.

My tip/guide is that,
Examples can be kept shorter, with a few important details.Link should be the most important part of each paragraph. My link here may be a little long, you can cut short a little (:

Hope that helps!
