I have been using hotmail for almost 10 years and never had this problem. My email was hacked, deleted all my contacts and send this message (happened twice this year) Quote:

| I checked with microsoft forum and they only claim they are still investigating it despite many people has complained about the same thing.. Anyone of you had the same problem?

so far not yet. But I used my hotmail rarely so maybe it wasn't targeted. Do you change your passwords regularly?

i always had a line of defences by having multiple hotmail add, so even if one tio hacked or spam i can just closed it

my frenz got it b4, send to microsoft but no use. best is to use another address or change to gmail to yahoo..

nope... but got one time the msn virus... my friend say got pple send 'em links when i was offline... so i changed my password.. so far until now no issues... maybe try to change your passwords regularly...

change password regularly -- make sure its complicated and only you can rmb
also dont anyhow open suspicious emails

I had experienced, once. I got a shock when I opened my mail that time. Everything was in chinese.
In the end, I deleted that account and signed up for a new one

It is very easy to hack those free email account, all I have to do is to send in fake SSL certificate once the user accept it and login I will be able to know the password, I tried it with my friend before

oh yes guys btw have you been receiving weird emails from your friends (which they didnt send at all, but sender name put as their name) and title is Fotos

I can safely bet that over 25% of the users here... their sgclub userid and password is same as their hotmail/yahoo/gmail userid password.
Same goes to other forums account.
And if thats the case, why complaint about hacking when any forum owner know your login info to yahoo/hotmail/gmail/facebook/myspace account?
My password for email, forums, social networks are different.
