Deja Vu...Yeah! How does it work? To me it's our mind having a flash of the future but there is many others who think otherwise

Yeah, it feels weird when I get that... and I'm usually reminded of a dream as well.

Re: How Does DeJa Vu actually works?

From Wikipedia:
Déjà vu (pronounced /ˈdeɪʒɑː ˈvuː/), "already seen"; also called paramnesia, from Greek παρα "para," "near, against, contrary to" + μνήμη "mnēmē," "memory") or promnesia, is the experience of feeling sure that one has witnessed or experienced a new situation previously (an individual feels as though an event has already happened or has happened in the recent past), although the exact circumstances of the previous encounter are uncertain. The term was coined by a French psychic researcher, Émile Boirac (1851–1917) in his book L'Avenir des sciences psychiques ("The Future of Psychic Sciences"), which expanded upon an essay he wrote while an undergraduate. The experience of déjà vu is usually accompanied by a compelling sense of familiarity, and also a sense of "eeriness", "strangeness", or "weirdness". The "previous" experience is most frequently attributed to a dream, although in some cases there is a firm sense that the experience "genuinely happened" in the past.

The experience of déjà vu seems to be quite common among adults and children alike. References to the experience of déjà vu are also found in literature of the past, indicating it is not a new phenomenon. It has been extremely difficult to evoke the déjà vu experience in laboratory settings, therefore making it a subject of few empirical studies. Certain researchers claim to have found ways to recreate this sensation using hypnosis. However, the subject of hypnosis is indeed controversial among some circles, and such data would demand proof that hypnosis is possible as per the manner the study implies.
I guess we get that feeling coz long long ago, like childhood or something, we actually see the item/situation b4... so it like store into one corner of our memory.
One fine day we look at an object/situation which triggers our brain to attempt to identify the object which will cause us to search through our memories.
Then when the brain looks through our memories it comes across something similar that we have encountered b4 and we get the deja vu feeling??
My logic is not 100% correct.

Re: How Does DeJa Vu actually works?

from what i heard, it has got something to do with our subconscious and conscious part of our brain. like how information flows to our subconscious mind before we realize the situation

Re: How Does DeJa Vu actually works?

Its a subconscious event. Each time we find a place familiar, we triggered that subconscious. We may have dreamt about it, visited or even watched that place on TV, but we forgot. Then we visit that place and "Hey this place looks familiar!". But in reality its u who forgot that u have seen this place before.

For example someone may have seen a documentary on Budapest on Discovery Channel and forgot about it. After a few years, that person visits Budapest and triggered that subconscious. He will find that place familiar. Being human, he will think his past life was in Budapest or something, but actually he only watched it on Discovery Channel lol.

Re: How Does DeJa Vu actually works?

Deja Vu is a good question but what about Doppelgänger?

We can find alot about it but can we be certain that it's real or can we just throw it away that it's fake?

Wikipedia can't tell us everything but this question about Doppelgänger must be shared!

(You read like the start of a scary question/story cause I wrote it like that)
