Default How to read a book?

Guys, do you jot down notes while reading a book? Or do you write a book review in your diary or blog for knowledge retention? One of my problems in reading is that i tend to forget the book content over time. Well, that does give me valid reason to re-read a book after some time, doesn't it?

How do you guys read books?

I dont jot down notes while reading a book. Its too troublesome unless i come across some interesting phrases.

But i do keep a book. I write the title of the book. When i start reading it and when i finished reading it. The author. And a roughly description of the story.

It's okay if you forgot what you initially read. Fortunately I got good memory.

But just carry on reading from where you stop. Reading is for relaxation (unless it's your textbook), you don't have to remember every single details...

i only jot down sentences or ideas which strike me and make an impression. otherwise i have habit of highlighting as i read.

books are meant to be re-read. especially non-fiction vocational books, or subjects which you are trying to self-study. revising will improve retention

Fiction books i usually just re-read them after awhile... I like that it refreshes my memory and lets me feel all the emotions and excitement all over again.

I only note down words or phrases that catches my attention (self-improvement books i usually just use a pencil and note in at the side of the page) in a notebook which has a list of books and its authors that i've given away (due to space constraint) and its brief summary and another list of books that i am looking for.
