how does the Singapore government increase national income?

How did the Singapore government increase real national income over the last 4 years?

What's the definition of real national income? And what are some initiatives by the government to increase the real national income in Singapore?*

What type of answer do you want? Politically correct answers or the harsh truths?

Generally, in order to increase National Income, Singapore uses 2-3 policies in general.

- Exchange rate policy. This is to facilitate more trade and stabilise inflation to attract more investors.
- Supply side policy. Most common is the "opening the floodgates" thing. It is assumed in economics that more people = more output = more "productivity".
- Trade policy. Signing FTAs all over the world, allowing more viable trading terms with other countries.
- Singapore do use fiscal tools, but most of the time in very small dosages. An example will be tax rebates, and the income package that is given to the Singaporeans during the 2008-2009 crisis.

Sounds like from textbook.

I think TS topic is more for the average sgean on the ground level.
What is done on a national scale might not necessarily trickle down to those on the bottom of the pyramid.

Ah actually, those just came out of my head and not from textbooks.

Anyway I guess as a average Singaporean, the most notable one will definitely be the foreign influx. Many have a lot of criticism of this model, so I will not touch on that.

I would've thrown in some AD-AS diagrams, then added a long, verbose explaination of the multiplier effect, but I realised that I forgot more than half of what I learnt in H2 Economics.
