It all depends on what you're working as. As a tutor here, I feel my job is laid back. But most other Singaporeans definitely don't feel laid back at all. I'm sure not everyone in Australia is laid back either. There are definitely stressful jobs there also. But if I were to choose somewhere to move to and work, I would consider Australia one of the closest to Singapore.

A perfect country doesn't exist anywhere. You want to enjoy the good parts of a country, you have to get through the BS it comes with also.

It's not as bad as what you hear.

Just try to blend in a bit and don't be so stubborn to the extent that you bring your bad habits at home to a new country.

Re: If you had to work overseas, where?

If I could speak Japanese, I would definitely want to try working in Japan for a couple of years. But I can't so it's Australia for me.

Working/living in a major city in Australia is no different from working/living in Singapore. However, it gets better when you are further away from these cities like sydney/ melbourne etc. I actually like these areas in Australia because it is so much more peaceful while they still have the necessary social infrastructure and shopping malls etc (not a lot though).

Germany - I love the efficiency and no bullshit attitude of getting things done

Austria or Spain - amazing places to hang out and explore outside of my career life

well, that wld force you to quickly pick up Jap isn't it?

and living in Australia while having similarities to Singapore, is no where like Singapore. They have so much space to travel, camp, wildlife, etc. and even the lifestyle and educational system there is so much different from Singapore!
