To-be inline skater here, need advice on skates from experienced skaters!!

Hello!

Its time to pick a proper hobby after idling so long, and I chose Inline Skating!

As titled I have some issues with purchasing skates suitable for me. The main problem is that I am flat-footed and I have a prescription insole which ease away the strain on my spine after standing for too long and to provide support to my feet.

I have tried out several K2 skates however most are not able to house my current prescription insole properly, I am able to make a new insole that can be fitted into skates however what I would like to find out first which kind of skates is suitable for flat-footers? And are insoles really required?

I would like to keep the discussion within imported brands within Singapore. (Example: Seba, ROLLERBLADE, K2, etc)

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

If any Flat-foot skaters see this, please help me out too!

Have you tried other brands yet? Maybe you should go down to the stores and ask the shop assistant. They should be able to give you better advice.

Rollerblade brand was kinda condemned by the stall assistant, they did say the arch support in Rollerblade skates are molded on the plastic boot itself and will most probably cause discomfort. SEBA was kinda encouraged, but the shop does not retail that brand.

I need more information as a few shops actually have conflicting opinions..

Re: To-be inline skater here, need advice on skates from experienced skaters!!

Hi flat footer! I am also having flat feet. There are some shoes and skates that I cannot wear too. So far, I have tried doop with Xsjado wraps, K2 FIT X Pro but my success story with (almost) no pain is with K2 Il Capo. The insole that come with it is pretty much flat and offers cushioned support.

For buying skates, another consideration is to ignore your shoe size and try for one that fits snug. We normally tend to wear shoes that are slightly loose and that will be a problem in skates. My first pair was half size large and the floppy feeling isnt really good.

Seba is good and it seems to be one of the most popular brands I see. Different models of the Seba line cater to different widths, so if you have wide feet, be aware of it and try them all out first.

LOL! I have the same experience as you. I was at one of the shops there and I'd told the sales person I have flat foot. He had advised that I avoid Rollerblade.
