Interested in Inline Skating.

Im considering of buying a pair of skates but am not sure which is suitable for beginners.
I know how to skate & skate b4 a few time but still not very stable.
What model/brand is cheap & not bad/comfortable?
My budget is around $100-$180?
If possible, Is thr any clearance sale for inline skates?

I rented ECP Inline Culture's skates 3-4times.
& Often my legs will be numb aft 20mins?
Izit the size or the way I skate affect my leg to be numb?

* I noe nothing bout skates but am interested in it since young *

Thanks in advance (:

Re: Interested in Inline Skating.

the numbness is normal as you are not a frequent skater yet, so you are not used to the skates, but as you skate more often on a regular basis, your legs will slowly get used to skating, and the numbness will occur much later or maybe even not at all ...

there was a clearance sales in May, selling all kinds of recreational skates at extremely cheap prices ...

well, i guess you could go Hvper skate shop at ECP, the people there can reccomend skates to you according to your requests, although all the skates are not much different from each other, IMO

Re: Interested in Inline Skating.

Ehhh the numbness, dont try to tie the strings too tight.
For some people the pair of skates fit their feets, but their feet too broad. End up feeling soar and numb on the top.

Re: Interested in Inline Skating.

TS: wad kinda of skating disciple are u intrested in? cos.. your budget, u add slightly more u can get a good skate but kinda no point if u dun use it to it's capabilty..

wad i meant by disciple,
there's slalom, slide, recrational/leisure, aggressive and speed skating style.. (google if u wanna know more)

for slalom and slide.. i would recommend Seba Fr2 as it's long lasting and durable..
recrecational u can look into K2 skates which is way off below 200..

IMO: if u're realli passionate bout skating.. invest on it and u won't regret.. wad i meant is.. u can buy a cheap skate now.. but as u progress further, the skate can no longer keep up with your skating style/tricks and u will need to buy a skate all over again... so think bout wad u want =)

Idk barhs,
I like skating from young but my parents doesn't allow me to skate bcuz they think its dangerous.
So now I'm a little older so wished to saved up & get a skates of my own as it's quite unworthy if I keep on rent skates @ ECP on long term basis.

Yups..
I'm nt very sure leh.
Most probably just for recreational.
As I dun have friends around me who're interested in skating & I wont often head down to ECP. Most probably only skate around my house void decks etc.
Thanks anw (:

Re: Interested in Inline Skating.

kuanann45 >> yea lol, starter ma, cannot too tight la.
Dont get those random brands, at least k2 or seba.
One of my friend keep getting abrasion with some random brand he got from those ntuc outlets

I still remember when i shop for a pair of shoes, the auntie say my feet is fat, wt... LoL
basically if broad feet, it fits in well le.

I was surprise my friend whom skate like a few times said that his skates mold to his legs le.
End up to my surprise loosening those laces does help relieves the numbness.

Re: Interested in Inline Skating.

agee with top... BUT if it's your own skates... (exprience with my skates) i am wearing 2 size smaller den my usual shoe size.. and u can imagine the numb ness and cramps i have to go thru.. BUT.. if u realli tighten it up and wear it for liek 3-4 hrs a day.. which u all know it's oso = to 3-4hrs of cramps... it will mod your feet in 2 weeks... it's realli up to u...

u loosen.. u MIGHT i say MIGHT have get sprains... so.. it's pro and cons on either side...

Er when doing long distance oso must so tight ar? cos normally i dun make so tight, then when playing slides then tighten, if not when normal skating then hard to pump properly.
