Isn't it a bit early for that? Britney Spears films free concert for Good Morning America (and what a raunchy wake-up call it will be)

Last updated at 12:49 AM on 28th March 2011

Britney Spears writhed and gyrated through a free concert in front of 5,000 screaming fans last night.

But the Femme Fatale's concert was also filming the gig for Good Morning America which will be aired on Tuesday morning.

The nation will be greeted to a rather raunchy wake-up call as Britney paraded in a silver sequinned leotard and danced on stage wowing the packed auditorium.

Raunchy wake up call: Britney Spears writhed and gyrated on the stage in San Francisco last night in a gig that was being filmed for Good Morning America

Hold It Against Me: Britney showed she was back to her best in the free gig at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium to support her seventh album Femme Fatale that is being released on Tuesday

The 29-year-old started her set at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco with her hit Hold It Against Me.

She straddled a chair during her performance with two dancers on either side of her.

The mother-of-two put on an energetic performance and moved around the stage like she had never left it.

Femme Fatale: Looking stunning in her bodysuits, Britney and her dancers performed a dazzling set as she sang songs from her new album

Spears closed the show with the song Till The World Ends wearing a black leather leotard spotted with flashing red lights and fishnet stockings.

Some of her fans had been camped out all night holding signs and screaming for their idol.

A local fan, Sarah Ammann, told ABC: 'I thought it was amazing. She was really great.'

She's a Slave 4 U: Britney's fans - who had been eagerly awaiting this comeback performance - screamed and sang along as their pop princess gave them what they wanted

Crowd pleaser: The mother-of-two looked in great shape and gave her fans that had camped out all night exactly what they had hoped for

'She's the ultimate performer. She's definitely back', Alicia Kennon of Brentwood, California added.

This latest gig to promote her new album Femme Fatale, comes just two nights after Britney performed in Vegas, in what was supposed to have been a secret concert.

She's been away from the pop scene for over a year so it was no surprise to see Britney Spears throwing herself back into it with gusto.

And as she took to the stage in Las Vegas on Friday night, she declared to her screaming fans: 'It's so good to be back.'

The pop star played a mini gig at the gambling capital's Palm Casino Resort, her first live performance since the end of her The Circus Starring Britney Spears tour in November 2009.

I'm back! Britney Spears gyrates out of a box as she gives her fans her first live performance in over a year in Las Vegas on Friday night

And if she had any apprehension about being somewhat rusty upon returning to the stage, she certainly didn't show it as she sent her fans into a frenzy.

One fan, who joined the 700 others that had packed into the Rain nightclub said: 'She was *beaming throughout – it was great to see.'

It's Britney, b****: The songstress was back on form as she strutted and sashayed on the stage in a sexy black leather bodysuit

Britney's back: Miss Spears took to the stage at the Rain nightclub inside the Palms Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas last night as she performed songs from her new album Femme Fatale

Britney was back to her pop star finest as she strutted onto the stage in a sexy black leather bodysuit, which showed off her curvaceous figure and flashed red lights on her bust.

She was literally bursting out of the outfit as she treated her screaming audience to a selection of songs from her upcoming new album Femme Fatale, which is released next Tuesday.

The mini concert started with a montage of her best video moments, which hyped up the crowd, before she came on stage and launched into her new single, Hold It Against Me, flanked by army fatigue-clad dancers.

She then gave her fan a debut performance of the produced track Big Fat Bass, which was remixed to included some of her older hits including Slave 4 U and Gimme More.

On top of the world: Britney sang to her fans on top of a podium at the back of the stage

Britney, who was thoroughly enjoying being under the spotlight again, smiled and sashayed for her fans, as she sang her second single from the album, Till The World Ends.

Toward the end of the show, Britney was snapped gyrating and writing around on large speakers that dotted the stage.

Let's vogue: Britney throws some Madonna-esque moves with her arms as she shimmies in an eye-catching sparkling bodysuit

At one point she stood on top of a podium and then made a quick costume change into a silver sparkling bodysuit as neon letters spelling out the name of her new album, flashed above her head.

It takes two: Britney is helped off her chair and held up by her dancers as she launches into a dance routine

There was some suggestion that Miss Spears lip-synced along to three of her songs, but the 700-strong crowd didn't appear to notice or care.

And after the show, she took to her Facebook page and added pictures of her performance and wrote: 'OMFG it feels good to be on stage again!!'

Feel the noise: Britney sits atop some big speakers as she dons a PVC bodysuit and police officer-style hat

The show was being taped for MTV for a special for the music channel which will be aired next week.

It also turned out to be a surprise for her fans who had been expecting her to make her live comeback in San Francisco tomorrow night.

The Las Vegas gig was supposed to be a secret, but after rumours began to circulate, Britney took to her Twitter page on Friday to announce: 'Looks like my little secret isn't a secret anymore... You're all invited. Be there or be square b****!'

On stage smooch: Britney moves in on one of her dancers for a kiss
