Janitor/Cleaner borrowing money

Hi girls, I'm not sure if the ladies lounge will be the most appropriate page to be talking about the matter that I have.

Ok I'll be brief about the story as the rest of the story is in my blog.

I need help to understand if it is OK for a janitor/cleaner to be asking to lend him your money. Ok, it is not a BIG money but you know even 10 dollar he hasn't even paid me back though he promised to return it the next day.

What would you do if you had this situation?

the rest of the story you can read it here

Re: Janitor/Cleaner borrowing money

I work as a trainer (outsourced) for the cleaning industry, I avoid lending $ to them too. Not that I'm not compassionate (I had given supermarket vouchers to a few needy ones) but I do not what the situation to get out of hand.

If one lends $ regardless to a cleaner or a friend, don't have high expectations of the borrower returning the money.

Re: Janitor/Cleaner borrowing money

Its definitely not right lend them money especially if they don't return you back despite promising you. Its okay to be generous not too generous as you will get cheated. You can help them if you're well to do, not when you know you're a student or don't have enough money for yourself. You should have enough money for yourself before you donate so don't give people money so generously.

Yes, you are right. I was just in shocked haha. so instead of saying "I don't have cash", i constantly said "ok".

The janitor is not working in the apartment anymore. I feel safe to roam around the building now
