I know a couple of jrock forums. actually guys, i wanna make one singapore JROCK forum. meaning only focusing on jrock. ****** like only gazette, alice nine, an cafe.. like sian :/

i plan to make a jrock forum.. discuss about angura, visual, oshare kei bands and their music. like a little area for anime, or maybe dollfies and talking crap lol.

that's a good idea. we need more discussion on visual kei that isn't visual like anugara, oshare etc etc or rather stuff other than GazettE.

I went to Temasek JC. and everyone got utterly freaked by jrock. as in the androgyny part. haha but i'm used to being the only one who appreciates jrock both visually and musically. some of my friends who listen to western rock or metal can appreciate x japan when i introduce it to them. XDDD

xjapan is universal. some of my frens also into western rock and i intro them endless rain they are like WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW

Cuz X Japan is like legend. A lot of people know them also. But I think we nid more focus on some new bands or potential indies bands. Now alot of people know about Gazette, Alice Nine, An Cafe but when i mentioned some indies bands not a lot of people listen to them >.< And yay! not really. X japan is considered metal. not everyone can stomach them XDDDD

yeah more focus needs to be given to upcoming bands. (not my speciality though because it seems i always chance upon good bands AFTER they disbanded)

well i picked endless rain in the first place is because its not heavy at all.
sentimental even.

but still, indies band popularity will depends on how deep you wanna go into jrock.
it takes an hardcore to know more bands on his/her own. ^^

im into both. as long as i think its good.
i don't mind listening to one song for quite some time, somehow won't get bored if really appreciate how much effort they put into.
i also find those bands like uverworld and orange range not bad.
kinda light not as heavy but nice to hear

i also have frens who know endless rain only
everytime we talk abt x japan some of them will go 'oooo that endless rain one rite?'

i can't say how much i have a love hate relationship with x japan. love the music, hate the franchising sometimes. i even like the growling and shouting stuff, like their older music from vanishing vision and blue blood.

i prefer jrock over US bands because jrock emphasis more in the instrumental skills
if you say heavy rock and metallic in US then its another story
but when it comes to jrock, average skill is already overpowered
everyone have fame.
popularity is divided in each bandmates
not like some bands only the vocalist is popular like hell and the guitarist eating grass at one side
and the friendship teamwork stuff is really in there.

agree with jinka, singapore doesn't have much influence from japan, even in the music industry here is focusing at chinese pop. sad case~

in the end, my opinion is jrock isn't just about pretty boys, but their composing of songs, their hardwork in learning instruments and passion which i admires
hell, even those not very famous bands have great skills.

for me, half of my family tree are kinda into japanese culture.
the first japanese songs i've heard was change and aska when i was in primary school
my cousins were crazy abt them and i just hear it.

my first jrock encounter was when i was sec 2, psycho by frens to play drum just for kicks. learn 2 years in orchard and quit for N and O levels.
poly came and started self learn guitar and pick tips from frens. all same boat as me, jap music but not all are jrockers.

lol. i was otaku for a better part of sec 1 - 4 and JC1. I only got into jrock in JC2 after cosplaying. haiz..

search youtube for the song "the internet is for porn". and you will understand. XDDDD
