Re: learning french

I'm learning French now. I've got a question.

In the phrase, "Mais voilà longtemps que l'on m'appelle Adrian", why is it that there is a (l') before "on".

Can I say instead "Mais voilà longtemps qu'on m'appelle Adrian"?

Thanks.

Re: learning french

Hi

There is no traduction for the ( l' ) it's more for the grammar, this is a polite form. You can also use "Mais voilà longtemps qu'on m'appelle Adrian" , The meaning is the same but this is not gramatically correct if you refers to French Grammar but nowadays you will find lot of people saying that and nobody will pay attention.

Learn French

Alliance Francaise in Singapore is my best bet if you are looking for academic French which can be very useful in your career.

If you are looking for something more casual, an online course may allow you the flexibility in terms of time. Consider Think French. It not only teaches you language, it teaches you culture as well.

Bonjour,

I found a very good school. The name is frenchstudio.
For me it's the best school in Singapore.
The teachers are very serious, fun and patient.

If you want to learn french go there !

A bientôt
