Liverpool's slide could be irreversible, says Blackburn supremo Sam Allardyce

Liverpool are in danger of squandering their reputation as one of the Premier League’s glamour clubs, according to Sam Allardyce.

‘Liverpool have begun to falter,’ said Blackburn Rovers manager Allardyce. ‘One problem there seems to be finances, the overriding factor in their poor season.

‘If Manchester City and Spurs go and spend again, then Liverpool may not be a top-four regular.

Stark warning: Allardyce
‘It’s looking like they are slipping back in their ability to buy the sort of players that are needed.

‘If you look at Liverpool’s front line, that tells you they haven’t got the necessary strength in depth.’
Without being in a position to spend as much money, Allardyce’s success at Rovers has almost mirrored that of Harry Redknapp at Spurs.

Both took over clubs last season when they were in relegation trouble — and their teams have flourished since.

Even defeat at Aston Villa in this afternoon’s finale would mean Rovers finishing only just below halfway.

But Allardyce is resigned to never winning a major trophy.

‘Where can I, at Blackburn, get past 10th place? That’s the problem we have at smaller town clubs,’ he said.

‘Top four? I’m not sure that will ever be the case again. I could fulfil one ambition and manage abroad — but I don’t see it yet because there is no better place than the Premier League for me.’

> Manage abroad? This sam is tactically clueless, traditional hoof the ball physical english method. Will not surviced elsewhere except in england

You aren't even a good manager. The only reason why you were able to avoid relegation was because of your bimbotic tackling and slow passes. Look at how many yellow cards you get in each match dumbass.

I dont think English Manger is really that good also for European soccer. Let talk about Alex Ferguson.

Join Man United in 1986. Took 6 yrs to win the league cup 1992/1993 and 12 yrs to win European cup 1998/1999.
As a manager who is more familiar with English football than his counterparts in the top five team, he won 11 league cup & 2 European cup in 24 yrs.

but he has a point that it can become a vicious cycle for big clubs when they start declining. as they get worse, the best players will also not want to join them and they also cannot attract the best. then they keep sliding, losing money, and it goes round and round.

think the next season is EXTREMELY crucial for them and see if they can reverse their fortunes. If they slip again, then i wld say it will become harder and harder to get back to top 4.

in the beginning, maybe. but even the best money won't attract the top players to a losing club. no one wants to join a club where their careers are headed for a dead-end.

I think with a sugar daddy & reputable world class manager should be half way there.
Even if cannot attract world top 20 players yet at least still can get some class players who are willing to come for the $$. Losing & Winning of cos will play a part after that.
