This looks like the new IPPT scoring system

This looks like the new IPPT scoring system

Forum user posts what looks like the details about how much you need to suffer.

By Jonathan Lim and Belmont Lay
July 24, 2014 News

A user on HardwareZone forum posted four photographs of what looks like a document of the new scoring system for the IPPT.

This comes a day after Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen announced that there would be a revamp of the IPPT and servicemen would only have to undergo three test stations push-ups, sit-ups and a 2.4km run.

In the document it says:

Based on a maximum of 100 points, the award type is determined by the total score from the 3 stations as opposed to a passing score for each station. However, servicemen must attain a minimum score at each station. This new scoring system will encourage servicemen to do their best for each of the stations.
So, the most important question: Is the new IPPT easier?

From the looks of it, it is easier to pass but not easier to get gold.

For servicemen between 28 and 30 years old, you can score the full 50 points for 2.4km run if you do it under nine minutes flat.

To get a full 25 points for sit-ups and another 25 points for push-ups, youd need to do 57 of them each in 60 seconds.

Sounds like pain.

Here are the photographs:

If this document is accurate, it would seem that the revamped IPPT scoring system is some what similar to the United States Army Physical Fitness Test which comprises push-ups, sit-ups and a 2-mile (approx 3.2km) run.

Therefore, would that be easier to achieve Gold standard?

The sit ups for max point is alot more than the old one which average about 40. The push ups may be tough if they expect good form and most likely there would be some no counts if didnt do properly enough.
